We had a two night stay in a second floor back room. We booked a deluxe room and it was comfortable but quite small. The room was well appointed and the staff were extremely helpful. The hotel is in a quiet street, very close to the museums and some lovely restaurants. Particular thanks to Andre for recommending the late opening...

We spent three nights at the hotel and had a wonderful time. The location was perfect with plenty of public transport nearby (including the bus to the airport) and of course the wonderful museums! The staff were friendly and helpful, and made sure we felt very welcome. They were even able to find me a different pillow when I asked....

Only a few steps to the Rijksmuseum, Gogh museum, shopping area (if you like). But in a very quiet street, rather isolated after dark, but safe. Trams, buses to central station and anywhere around Amsterdam very convenient. First impression of hotel was a little bit to the negative but the room was comfortable, clean and cozy, staff attentive. Was a...

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighbourhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
