Most people don't think of Holiday Inn Express when traveling to Amsterdam. We chose it for the central location, very reasonable price, and IHG points. We made a great choice! The hotel is within walking distance of the railway station and every major Amsterdam attraction.

It is small, as one expects in a European city, but has all the essentials. The front desk staff is delightfully hospitable. They have a small bar with everything you need to unwind after a day of touring the city. The included breakfast is perfectly 'serviceable' and will kickstart your energy to go exploring.

Our room was compact but efficiently designed. Slept like babies in the comfy bed. The best part was the amazing view! Definitely pay the upcharge for a canal view room. Each morning, we opened the glass door to greet the ducks who came to visit.

Me and my husband stayed here from 17/2/20-21/2/20 and I really can't speak highly enough of this hotel, the location is around 10 minute walk from the main train station and the main drinking areas. The hotel is lovely and clean with a bright reception area which is very welcoming, the staff were all polite and extremely helpful, special mention to Lotte who checked us in and made us feel welcome in not just the hotel but in Amsterdam, I had also speak with Lotte over email a few weeks prior to our stay where again she was extremely helpful. The breakfast we were a little unsure of at first when we booked as coming from England we are used to a hot breakfast at a hotel but the selection on over here was very good.

Overall I can't give this hotel less then 5 stars

I’ve recently stayed here at the Holiday Inn Express whilst visiting Amsterdam with my partner. We stayed for 4 nights and had a fantastic trip! The hotel was excellent, comfy beds, shower was big and powerful, spacious rooms. Staff were very friendly and helpful, can’t fault them. Breakfast was okay, it could do with a bit more of a variety but overall it was fine. The station is right outside the hotel and is one stop to Amsterdam Centraal. The ticket will last you all day and cost us around 5 euros each which we thought was great value for money, you can get in and out of any station with the day card. Very easy to navigate and find your way around. If you’re looking for somewhere to stay outside of the Central area this is the place to stay, lovely and quiet. There’s two restaurants outside and a Spar shop downstairs. Perfect. Would defy stay again.

We stayed for 2 nights mid Feb 2020. The hotel is in a brilliant location with easy walking routes from Central station and to the main sites including Ann Franks house, Dam Sqaure, etc.
On arrival we were greeted by a lovely lady called Lotte. Having read previous reviews with her being mentioned people aren’t wrong at how helpful she is. We were able to check in before 10am and even got a room upgrade!! Lotte is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us useful tips on how to get where we wanted to go and also places she would highly recommend.
We also met another receptionist on our second night called Charlotte. On our way home that evening, I had a very nasty fall and badly cut my knee open. Charlotte really couldn’t do enough for me and helped to clean me up and make sure I was ok and had everything I needed. Her first aid was second to none and she couldn’t have been more caring.

I’d definitely recommend this hotel as the location is on point and the staff are incredible in their service and knowledge! The complimentary breakfast is also useful to get you started for the day!!

This hotel is within walking distance of a number of sites in Amsterdam. If you are a bicyclist, there is a bike rental shop about 3 minutes away on the same side of the street. You can get to all the major sites by walking, bicycling or using the public transportation. It is clean and has everything that you would need during your visit. The room we had was on the 4th floor on the back side of the building with a window overlooking the buildings behind and the canal. For the most part it was a quiet room. We had 2 twin size beds and the room was clean and the staff was very accommodating to our requests. Wi-fi was good and the continental breakfast was good. It is a small room and the bath was fine for us. We recommend this hotel.

This is possibly the worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel in my life, as someone who works in the hospitality industry, in a hotel, I know what level of service should be expected and this place is by far the worst service I’ve ever experienced. First off I was staying with my friend so we booked a twin room and when we got there we were greeted to one double bed in the room, when I explained this to the receptionist I was told that there was nothing they can do and we were expected to sleep together in a double bed for the first two nights of my stay which was inappropriate, then the next day I asked for a wash cloth at reception because there’s none provided in the shower, I was told they don’t have them, How do they expect people to wash themselves? All in all a very very bad experience and I definitely wouldn’t recommend to anyone ever. Only positive, helpful and good people in this place was the night Porter and the lady who served us the breakfast.

I spent 10 days visiting Amsterdam and stayed here. The rooms are small, typical for Europe, but well supplied with attentive housekeeping. The location is a bit out of the Centrum area, but if you are a walker, this is not an issue. I was able to get to all activities and events easily. Stores and nice eateries are within a 5 block walk. Breakfast had a wide selection of fresh breads, cereals, fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, hard boied eggs, pancakes and more. The front desk staff is friendly and attentive to all your needs. Special shout out to Jenny. She was outstanding in her assistance and excellent with restaurant suggestions, walking directions for wherever you need to go, and any other assistance you may need.

We had a lovely stay here. We were in room 3001, so were at the back of the hotel. We had a nice view from there and could see the canal. The room was quiet and I slept really well. The room had everything you would need for a short stay - 2 USB charging points by the bed, shampoo, body wash, hair dryer, a safe. There were lots of continental choices for breakfast. The hotel happily stored our luggage when we arrived, as we arrived before check in and again after we checked out as our flight was in the evening.
My only criticism was that I had to ask for more tea bags and milk in the room on a few occasions as there wasn’t enough but the receptionist happily gave them out.

We booked 2 canal rooms for 5 days. This hotel is clean and adequate. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is European style buffet and also adequate. The canal rooms had charming views of the small boat traffic, and a pedestrian bridge. The location is close to markets, restaurants, museums, cleaners, souvenirs, convenience stores and typical Holland sites. The hotel wireless and TV were very good. We found it difficult to get an Uber from the hotel about half of the time. There were no dressers in our rooms, so we resorted to piling our clothes on top of our suit cases. If you need a covid test, I do not recommend the Spoedtest.nl close to the hotel. We found using a televisit service, with any self test much more convenient.

We picked the hotel based on location an value for money. Was close enough to take 10/15 min walk to dam square. Clean and comfortable as expected with IHG. Breakfast was a good spread of meats, cheeses, cereals etc and well managed by friendly staff. Good coffee but bit of a queue!
Check in staff were great and luckily our room was ready early. On check out we were able to leave our bags to pick up at the end of the day.
