Great little hotel in the heart of the Red Light District, very busy street, but I loved it as it was close to everything !It's a one star hotel, staff was very friendly and helpful. Worth the money!!

What a bargain this hotel is, great location in the red light district, large clean rooms and breakfast included, will definately be staying here again soon, and is a smoking hotel :-) only downside were the incredibly step stairs to the upper floors lol

Stayed here last week. Good points : Its cheap and very central... and strangely despite the location (heart of the RLD) its actually very quite inside the hotel... got 2 x great nights sleep. Bad points : Its typical budget Amsterdam hotel .. a bit worn-out (but fine)... crazy steep stairs up to the rooms (only suitable for young people),...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights on our first trip to Amsterdam a few weeks ago. We booked through booking.com, it was great value compared to most other hotels in the vicinity (Amsterdam to us seemed quite pricy for accommodation). It was easy to find, about a 10 minute walk from the central station and in the...

I've stayed at this hotel every time I've been in Amsterdam and never had a bad experience that I can recall. The location is fantastic, you couldn't be more central, the hotel is right on the Red Light District. Rooms are cleaned, towels changed etc...daily. Rooms are very clean and safe to leave your belongings in whilst your exploring the...

Nice central location. Clean rooms. Towels changed everyday. You can have your room cleaned everyday if you want. Shared toilets and shower but only between two rooms so thats alright. Very basic rooms. Breakfast food was alright. Scrambled and boiled eggs, mini frankfurters, bread, jams, butter, cold meats, cheese, orange juice, coffee, tea. Everyday.

Me and my husband stayed here for two nights last week...the staff were very friendly. The hotel is in a great location for most things, the museums were probably the furthest away and took about 20 mins to walk there...there are plenty of public transport options though if you don't fancy the walk. The rooms were nothing fancy but great...

The hotel has nothing special, but it's location absolutely in middle of the Red Light Disctrict is really good. We stayed on the top floor and the steps were though. The room was absolutely simple just like the breakfeast. The staff wasn't the most polite and proactive I've ever seen. It is a cheap choice, so don't expect a lot.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighbourhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
