Where else to sleep in Amsterdam than on an house boat? It's a boat, so there are bunk beds and shared toilets and showers, there's a sink in the room. Although it was snowing when we were there, it was not cold in the room....More

The vita nova is in a great location, quiet but close enough to the city centre that it is easily walkable. It is a stone throw from central station for all the trams and metro. It has a museum on it's doorstep - nemo museum...More

Not enough and what is there is extremely basic. I think there were two toilets (one male and female) and two showers on the floor I stayed on. No soap in the showers and the towels supplied weren't changed in the three nights I stayed there. My advice would be to get a budget hotel, the Vita Nova is an expensive hostel.
