Overall, it was a good place, the location is great, central to lots of sites in Amsterdam (we walked everywhere). Although we had a few issues, we would consider staying here again as the value was great. Pros: We walked from the central trains station and it did not take long at all (maybe 15-20 minutes). It's just off a...

Location - This is a great little place in the Jordaan area. We just loved the residential feel of the area, it's quiet and peaceful, and a world away from the drunk, stoned tourist hordes of the Medieval Area. It's walkable from Centraal station or three stops on the tram. There's a cute little brown cafe on the corner and...

This is by far one of the best value for money places I have stayed at! The rooms are super clean and very modern. It Is close to a beautiful canal and within walking distance to a tram station. The host was very helpful and friendly also answering his phone out of hours to assist me with a problem. Definitely...

We stayed for 5 nights in this apartment and we were really pleased with everything. The owner was very friendly and helpful, we had tea and coffee making facilities. Quiet area but only a 10min walk to the main street and also close to main train and tram stop.

We stayed for a weekend in this apartment, with its own street level entry in the Jordaan area. Well received by the owner, it has tea & coffee facilities, and free wifi & computer. It could get some renovations, regarding curtains and a handle for the toilet door, but was clean and tidy. Last day visitors in the attached flat...

A Fair priced apartment in a quiet but well located area. The apartment has a good sized shower, free internet, kettle ,fridge and a tv that picks up bbc channels and premiership football! The owner met us on arrival and was very welcoming. The apartment opens right onto a quiet neighbourhood street in the Jordaan, just 25metres from a canal....

We stayed here for the weekend at the end of February. The room has it's own door that opens up onto a (safe) backstreet, so you enter the bedroom straight from the street. The room is a good size, it's clean and the bed is really comfortable. (I think it's a memory foam mattress). There's a kettle and a fridge...

Have just returned from a winter trip in Amsterdam in up to minus 10. The location was beautiful, in a great location which made accessing all the sights easy particularly in the difficult weather. My partner and I added the breakfast which saved us time and money, a brilliant way to start the morning and the hosts were a lovely...

Staying in Jordaan

Neighbourhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
