Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.

The location of the hotel, and the dedicated toilet for each room of the hotel are the main advantages, because most of the budget hotels in Amsterdam have a shared toilet for multiple rooms. The breakfast buffet is fair, and the staff was very helpful.

I think the last time this was redecorated was in the 1970s some time. It was clean, but the carpeted wall was a bit weird and the decor had seen better days. Be careful with the stairs leading to the apartment, they are very steep....More

A 2 minute stroll from the main hotel, these apartments were ideally located in the heart of Amsterdam in one of their traditional buildings, meaning that it is narrow with very steep stairs. We only had one bag and were on the first floor, so...More
