We visited here whilst on holiday. Went purely on Trip Advisor reviews and it certainly didn't disappoint! We drove 40mins to go and wouldn't hesitate to do it again. Great food and atmosphere! They are famous locally for their pies. We had beef and Stilton, and fish pie. Both were incredible, by far the best pies we've tasted. Beer was...

Visited for morning coffee and afternoon meal as part of cycling trip. Very good service and excellent food. Real ale available although on the day was not at its best. Great chips and good size portions. Not the cheapest pub food but overall a great place to visit.

This is always worth the drive into the country to get a special lunch. The food is excellent, portions generous, the staff friendly. There's a really comfortable atmosphere in this pub. Despite the place being really busy the meals come out quickly. I hesitate to recommend our favourite pudding in case everyone else goes and eats it all before I...

Good value restaurant in the Peak District. Large portions, reasonably priced. Especially liked their twice cooked chips. Fluffy inside, crispy outside. Come with an empty stomach. Nice pub atmosphere.

Please book in advance or you will be disappointed. The choice on the menus is spot on and as for the deserts well I can...

Very welcoming dog friendly pub. We visited whilst staying in Winster for a week. I had the Pork and Chicken pie which was gorgeous and Rach had a fantastic burger. We arrived around six o clock and by the time we left it was starting to get really bust and it was a Tuesday night. So, I would recommend booking...

Been here with friends quite often. The service and food has always been excellent. Friendly staff and nothing too much trouble for any of them. Would highly recommend trying it for yourselves. Will be back there next week.

Been here a few times and it's always very busy so booking is a must. Despite the busy Christmas period we still have family birthdays going on and the Royal Oak is an excellent choice with its varied menu, signature homemade pies and burgers and desserts to die for. Service was spot on and the food delicious. I don't really...

Called in at this pub on the way to Buxton. It was lovely food I had a burger and my boyfriend had the ploughman's. We both enjoy coming here very much and will definitely return. Sarah was the manager on shift and she is just fab!
