Visited here after it was as recommended by a local. Should have thought otherwise. We waited over an hour for our food and there was only 12 people in the restaurant part of the pub. When the food did come it wasn't warm and it was bland. Really surprised of the lack of taste and attention given to the meals.... More

We called here on a Saturday evening. The pub is certainly interesting in decor, first impressions were unsure to love it or hate it! Ordered food from a good menu offering, to a polite but unsure waiter. The food was excellent. The staff were interesting, despite it all I would recommend you visit. Great value for an excellent meal.

We visited the Dial Inn twice during our stay in freshwater east. We are a family of four, 10 year old son and a four year old daughter. Both children know what they like! We visited on our first night, and it was pretty quiet. The staff were polite and friendly, and the service prompt. They provided a half portion... More

i was meeting some friends at the bishop's palace, which is within easy walking distance. the car park at the pub is odd, but there is lots of free roadside parking very close. the outside of the pub is nothing special but, inside, i was struck by the splendid décor: a lot of tables to eat at, but 2 capacious... Was staying nearby and called in. First impression was that the pub was ,how can I put it politely, 'shabby chic' However the beer was great (cask beers) and there was some live music. Went back the following evening and ate there. The food was fantastic, better than the hotel. The menu was extensive for a small pub and the... More

I was amazed that this pub offers a selection of 7 vegetarian meals (not just the usual veggie burger either!) along with make your own pizza! Exactly what every vegetarian wants too see! I had the best pizza in ages, my husband and dad had the greatest steak too! The staff were excellent and so friendly, the atmosphere was so... More

Ate at the Dial night before last. Was amazed at the lovely decor, relaxed atmosphere, great ale and... really, really good food. I had fillet steak au poivre, Simon the guinea fowl stuffed with pork and both were incredibly tasty. The steak melted in the mouth and was full of flavour. Presented really well too. It was apparently bar person... More

Bunch of us retreated here in New Year's Day to escape the wind and rain. Friendly staff but not particularly well trained as everything just took a while to order and get. Basic beer brands on offer but a couple of decent ales at least and there is a pool table for those inclined. Decor is odd, just plain odd.... More

Six of us were stayying in a nearby holiday let. We had been badly let down by the letting company and had to abandon our planned barbeque and made a very late decision to eat out. We arrived and were warmly welcomed at the Dial Inn. The meal, which came after a bit of a delay - easily excused when... More

Decided to try The Dial Inn after a recommendation by our B & B in Maenobyr. We were not disappointed - good menu choice and beautifully cooked. I had the hake and husband had the cod - both substantial portions, everything was piping hot. Staff were very welcoming and we would definitely return. Try it!
