My husband and I popped in to the Blacksmiths Arms on a whim on Saturday for lunch - and couldn't have been more delighted. From the smiling welcome to the gorgeous decor and the, quite frankly, amazing food, the Blacksmiths is a superb pub. My husband, a confirmed meat eater, is still raving about his vegetarian starter (Goats cheese and...

Came here on a random and found an absolute gem! Ideally located. In great proximity to Lewes plus within literally minutes you have access to the most beautiful countryside. The Blacksmiths Arms itself has large very well presented comfortable rooms to stay in plus we ate there too and the restaurant was excellent. Nice big fireplace by the bar. The...

We've had two meals at The Blacksmiths Arms quite recently having only just discovered there were new managers. Both meals have been excellent. It is so good to find a local pub that cooks from fresh as opposed to following what so many pubs and restaurants do today and use one of the mass homogeneous catering supply companies. There is...

Good afternoon, Oscar and I took over The Blacksmiths 8 months ago, we started the food concept from scratch deciding not to offer the 'same old' fare as the other pubs in the area and what was previously on offer. Some said foolish and some like yourself understood what we wanted to achieve. With the help of a great small...

Our son boards at Plumpton College just down the road from the Blacksmiths Arms so today took him for lunch here when we visited him. We had a most excellent lunch, really good value. We only had lunch but would recommend this as a good place to stay which we will be doing in the future.

Visited the Blacksmiths Arms as a group of 7 adults with one child. We pre-booked our meal as there were so many of us. A high chair was brought out for us as well, which was clean and of good quality. The pub itself is beautifully decorated, there were candles on every table, and fresh carnations dotted around in glasses....

New years day menu not child friendly. Lack of children's menu until we requested...then reticent as to what could be provided. Children had finished their meal before we received ours...even though the table for 4 next to us ordered after us and received all their meals before us. They were on their deserts before we received our main meal. My...
