We stayed at the charming Hotel Florhof over New Year and really enjoyed our time there. Despite belonging to the association of "Romantik" hotels, this quaint hotel does not feel like a chain hotel at all. Hotel Florhof is located within easy walking distance from Zurich's old town in a historic building. It is an ideal home base if you...

We stayed here for 5 days during late June and had a delightful experience. Very clean and comfortable with excellent multi-lingual staff and ready access to tram service to anywhere in town. Parking is a bit of a problem; fortunately we didn't have a car. Breakfast and dinner are both outstanding, either indoors or out in the garden. Only complaint...

The Florhoff is full of character and charm and should probably be rated as a boutique hotel. The food in the restaurant is outstanding . Given that the restaurant is old and its original character is intact it does mean that the rooms and particularly the bathrooms are small. However it is great value particularly given its central location.

When we arrived in pouring rain, I was informed that there was no porter to take the 5 bags up 10 steps to reception. The receptionist said she was the porter, but she was tied up taking an interminable time with another guest. So I lugged the cases up myself to get them out of the rain (travelling with my...

When we moved to Zurich we stayed in the Florhof for several weeks prior to moving into our own house. We were made most welcome and felt like part of the family. Beate and Brigitte looked after our every requirement. The rooms are quite charming, well appointed and very comfortable. The food and wine amongst the best we have ever...

The hotel Florhof is in a beautiful mansion with wonderful common areas including its sitting room and breakfast room. The common area are that of a four star hotel. The rooms are really that of a three star. A quick improvement, get rid of the bed spread (which reminded me of my grandma - both in look and smell) and...

A small to medium sized family run hotel just outside the old town but within easy walking distance of the lake, shopping, restaurants etc. Rooms are a good size, well equipped and quiet. Hotel would be a good option for couples or business people - less so for families. Restaurant is well known in Zurich for it's quality. Staff are...

Frighteningly expensive unless someone else is paying, the Florhof is very comfortable. There is a low-level sense of its being really rather pleased with itself, but as its clientele seem generally to find that it offers just what they are looking for, it is not unwarranted. The rooms are fine (unless you opt for a single with a challengingly narrow...

Stayed at the Florhof for three nights on a business trip. Location is convenient, quiet and calm but not far from Banhofstrasse. The hotel looks like a boutique hotel, but the service does't feel like it. For instance, left one afternoon under rain, there were umbrellas available at the front desk, but had to ask for it. Just two pillows...
