We splurged on a lake view room and loved it! The hotel looks lavish with plush chairs in the large lobby and a garden with a gate out to the walking path along the lake. The breakfast was delicious, and the WiFi worked for the most part. I took 1 star off for the lack of AC which is usually not an issue in Switzerland but it was hot and the rooms heated up excessively. Also, the staff was unable to answer my questions about local transportation options which was disappointing. The walk to/from the train station and the town center is short (10 min) if you take the main street, longer along the lake. There is also bus 201 that runs along the main street and drops you off right in front of the hotel. This is a much better option than a taxi that will cost you about 20 euros.

First thing: If you arrive by car, make sure that you go to Rue de Bon-Port and not the hotel directly, as both our navigation systems sent us down to the Quai des Fleurs, where cars are prohibited. Parking must be reserved in advance, we missed that, so we parked along the street, which is free for 3 hours during the day and free during the night (the hotel offers these parking discs for CHF 5, which you will need). The hotel itself has a flair of nostalgia (Belle Epoque), everything, including the rooms, are in matching style. The rooms are big enough, make sure you get one with lakeview - priceless. Breakfast is fabulous - they offer a large variety of dishes (including salmon, big plus!), and you will not leave the breakfast table hungry. Staff is very hospitable and friendly as well.

I along with my family booked 2 rooms for 3 nights & and we loved this hotel . Staff is very helpful. Rooms and breakfast is nice and location of the hotel is just perfect and very easily accessible by bus from main station and the hotel is located on the main high street.
I would surely stay here again for my next trip and recommend this hotel to all.

Hi, We enjoyed a perfect 2 week holiday at the Golf-Hotel Rene Capt. We booked evening dinner bed and breakfast, we had a lake view room with a small balcony, the view from the room was perfect, as was the view from the terrace. From the minute we arrived everyone made us very welcome, Edward on reception was very helpful in explaining bus routes and various things that helped to make the holiday very special. The evening meals were perfect, the menus was varied and the attention from the staff could not be beat, every member of the staff was there in a second if we needed anything. My wife is Celiac, Gluten free, each meal was explained to us that it was Gluten Free. The hotel has charm and character, the location is perfect, just out side the from door was the bus stop , with free bus service. As we arrived at Montreux Station there was a taxi waiting for us paid for by the hotel. The breakfast was very good, lots of choice and a constant supply of hot coffee. All the staff work very hard. We will be back soon.

We stayed at this hotel for one night. The hotel has a great location over looking Lake Geneva and has a lovely garden that runs down to the lake promenade. The centre of Montreux is about 15min walk along the lake. We paid extra for a lake-view room which had a balcony and afforded great views. The room had been freshly decorated was simple and modern with a very nice walkin shower and comfy bed. We decided to eat our evening meal in the hotel restaurant, unfortunately compared the rest of the hotel experience our meal was disappointing. The meal price was relatively high even for Switzerland and unfortunately it was presentation over taste /quality. If it was not for the meal experience I would have rated the hotel as excellent. We had not booked breakfast so can't comment. As a tip if you are in Montreux take an 1 hour to visit the Queen / Freddy Mercury museum / recording studios at the Casino - it is free and really interesting.

Our second time with them, and it was again a great stay. The room had lakeview, was quite large given the space constraints directly at the Quai des Fleurs and very well maintained and must have been remodelled recently. The breakfast provides excellent choices including salmon, so you can start your day with a happy tummy and smile on your face. They have their own garden to rest overlooking the lake as well, and within a few minutes walk you are directly in the centre of that part of Montreux. Employees are very friendly and hospitable, too. Overall, a fantastic stay, thank you.

A wonderful period property and decor that just pulls off old school charm and glory without being run down or outdated.
Hotel staff are friendly and helpful and courteous. Breakfast was extremely varied and high quality with excellent service and attention to details.
It is a 15 minutes walk from the train station and you can go down to the basement level and walk through the garden and out to the promenade on the water front.
The room was large and comfortable with a beautiful balcony overlooking the lake, mini bar and safe along with a large bathroom and wonderful toiletries.
Again the hotel provides discount cards for free transport and discounted entrance fees to tourist attractions which is really nice. You can walk to the Chateau de Chillon but it takes 20 odd minutes at a good pace.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel, perfect location, great view to the like, friendly and helpful staff. We had a clean und quiet room. However, for a 4**** hotel I expect more than 1 menu for the dinner (we had half-board) and more choice for the breakfast (like for example fried eggs). However, the food was delicious. We had to park on the public parking. Decoration of the hotel was a mix of nice old paintings and mirrors and plastic flowers and ikea (or similar) laterns. There was still some Easter decoration (end of May). To sum up: we had a very nice stay, but I would expect a little more from a 4**** hotel.

Had a one night stay in Montreux and decided to have dinner right at the hotel - turned out to be a great decision. Service was immaculate with drinks custom made. We had fish and gambas, and both were incredibly tasty. The chef truly is an artist as everything was simply perfectly prepared to the point. On top of that, you get the view over Lac Leman - really nothing left to be desired.
