This is a beautiful hotel in the old grand classic style of huge foyers and good sized rooms, all at an strategic location facing the lake and the promenade and also near the casino. The breakfast is excellent: varied, good quality items, sumptuous. The architecture is also to be appreciated. However, unfortunately, the rooms do not have air conditioned and leaving the windows open is not an option because of the traffic noise, motorcycles, etc. I really wonder why anyone would book a room there in the Summer as it would be unbearable. This is too bad, as otherwise it would be a great choice.

Stayed 1 night in Mar 2021 during Pandemic but still plenty of people there. Didn’t use the Spa but you could book individual appointments which meant you had the place more or less to yourself. Hotel is ancient but for architecture and location it just can’t be beaten. It’s right on lake leman (Lake Geneva) with lake views to the alps so book a lake view room.

Due to Covid the dinner in the restaurant was a set menu but we liked everything on it and the quality was excellent. I saw that others had made different choices if the menu didn’t suit them so if you don’t like it just ask for a replacement. Tables were pretty well spaced but it still felt weird after a year of not being in restaurants!!

Staff were great and very friendly with multiple languages to suit most visitors. The hotel is close to everything in Montreux so walking is the way to get around.

I was saddened by my stay in this hotel as I really wanted to like it. The setting was lovely and with a balcony overlooking the lake it was good. However, the room being freshly painted gave us a headache and we had to sleep with balcony doors ion for several nights.
No kettle - reception reluctantly found us one and said we could have used room service if we wanted a hot drink. No way when they cant make a decent cup of tea.
The fridge didn't work - reception dismissed this with a comment that none did and something to do with not having a license.
Bathroom taps were very slow in running.
Too many people kept entering the room on the feeblest of excuses. We felt they were checking up oil us at times.
Breakfast okay but I've had many better in Switzerland and several serving staff were quite belligerent.
NO UK TV stations apart from BBC news - dont they know many of us wont watch The BBC?
What I like:
Some of the staff were very nice.
The bed was comfortable
It was close to shops and station was ten minutes away.

Last weekend we ve visited Montreaux. It was a quick visit, and the weather did not help, it was raining all the time. But nothing did not stop me to have "our" night here.
I ve chosed this hotel as I am not a stranger to it, we had one of our first lunches here, and the hotel looks amazing, with a stunning view over the lake Leman, long and bright coridors, beautiful Reception and even provides a free entry Pass at their Spa at neighbor hotel, Excelsior. After persuading French to book us a room, which was simple as the hotel does not change anything before arrival at the hotel, and as he does not refuse my insistence, (smile smile) we ve booked via Booking and we ve payed upon arrival, I ve made a small luggage, took my Nikon camera, some clothes, and next day we were on our way to Montreaux.
Thing îs on our way to Montreaux (we live in Crans Montana now), i had the time to listen to my New playlist of songs. Recently i ve rediscovered a song, "Niko&Vinz-Am i wrong", a song that reminds me of a certain moment of my life, it reminds me of a period when i was living în Frankfurt, actually Kaiserlei, when during my training, i was listening to this song, it reminds me of our Trainer, Jenny(if i m correct, i m not really good with names, and thing îs there are more than 5years ago), it reminds me of the day when she told me she will leave Germany to go to Africa (!!!!) for an internship, it reminds me of her determination, and her courage too. I never saw Jenny ever șince, but every Time i listen to the lyrics,my mind fades away and i think of her. Actually every song reminds me of a certaine moment of my life, strange and salutary.
Back to our hotel, Eden Palace:We ve arrived în Reception, where I ve asked if it is possible to have a room with a view over the lake, but with EXTRA CHARGES of a 20 chf. Me, honestly, i don t like this "extra" thing, i feel like someone sticks his hand in my pocket, to say so. But i really wanted to make my photos(which are attached in my comment), so i agreed, and it was worth every penny. The morning that followed made me not regret the fact that i ve accepted the extra costs.
Our night was quiet, we had diner at Mollino, a restaurant that is very close and that i recommend. Then we took a short walk on The Leman, entered the Casino, like în and out, and returned to our room, namely 522.
The furniture în The hotel is a bit oldish, but the quality of sleep îs The Best i had în months. The bathroom îs quitte big, with a window and a lake view too.
Tv:168 (or 68, i don t really remember) channels which start with Al...., în arab, but also french, english, italian and german.
Our check out was fast and easy, and we ve declined the invitațion în their spa, as Minusch, the cat was waiting for us impatient at home.
You ask me if we shall return here next time:yes, defenately!!!

This is an antique hotel. They have no air conditioning system and they give you a standing fan. The windows have to be opened if not the whole room would be extremely stuffy. Can you imagine if this is the summer season?

They don’t even have a decent chair for you to rest on in the room! The chair that they provided had a metal backing and its so stiff and uncomfortable!

The rooms have to be locked using a old school key and they give such a HEAVY and BIG keychain! And its so hard to lock the door, you wonder if the lock is really working or not?

And they have 2 small lifts that can accomodate at most 2 x 28 inch luggages.

Breakfast is the usual standard Western fare, bread, ham, cheese, bacon, scrambled egg. There is no live egg station.

The good part is that it is in an ideal location, near to the restaurants and shopping belt and some room have a great view, facing the Lake. Else, nothing is good about this hotel. Although the rooms and furniture were extremely dated, I must say that the hotel is very clean, which is something I appreciate.

This hotel reminds everyone why guests prefer to spend their holidays abroad and get value for money. The only reason to book this hotel is the beauty of the nature in front.
The positive: great location and stylish architecture that gives a hint of glory days in the past.
The negative: very old (needing renovation) rooms (curtains partially hanging, furniture damaged, carpets with dirty spots in rooms and on stairs, overpriced food.
The hotel had no atmosphere, probably due to the covid. The great outdoor space this hotel posses on the lake side is hardly used (only few tables used for drinks at the restautant in the afternoon but not for dinner (?!!), what a shame.

I stayed there in july 2023 for 2 days .
On the first night only , the air conditioner stopped working . Next morning we told about this at the reception. In the evening when we returned from our local tour , still the problem was not fixed.
We ( me and my wife) went to the reception , and from there the actual face of the hotel came in to view.
Initially we had an interaction with some female staff ( name sicily i think) ( july 11, 2023 , at 6-7 pm local time )
She was so arrogant and rude . We told her that it is the hotel problem and they need to fix it , she replied " it is our problem not hotel's as our room ac was not working.
We told her that we have booked this room category and we need the same room type.
She replied you paid 300 chf months ago ,but now today rate is 600 chf and if you need that type of room, you need to pay the difference per night.
One could make out that she was making mockery of us ( talking in french )
Then her superior / colleage ( name edward/ euward) interacted with us.
Initially he put the deal straighforward to us.
Initially we were given room no 102 ( big room with huge balcony )
He told us to take the small room ( 4 floor)
Or
Sleep in the same room without air conditioner.
We called our agent in india , and after he had a talk with mr edward , one consolation of 50 % discount on dinner was given in lieu of small room .
We had no choice but to accept that.
So the owners / management please look into this matter .
Every guest demands comfort , respect and service which your hotel and its staff lacks.
Please learn how to cater the guest from a small 3 star hotel in paris ( joyce astotle)
NOTE:
i request all tourist specially indians not to book this hotel
It has a lake view but staff is rude , arrogant specially with indians.
They make fun of you .
We cant compromise our dignity and respect .

We stayed at the Eden Palace for 4 days in October. It is a beautiful classical property, built in the late 1800's. Our room faced the lake, Lac Léman (a.k.a. Lake Geneva) and had a small balcony with a table and two chairs. The balcony was ideal for enjoying the spectacular view! The room was relatively compact but very comfortable. The bed was great. We had individual quilts, which was a nice touch! The bathroom had been updated. It must not have had a shower initially. During the update a shower was installed with a 1/4 door shield to protect the floor from getting soaked. It did not work! Subsequent showers worked better after we learned to stand in the corner of the tub...

The hotel has a fabulous breakfast buffet, which may be included in the room rate. We enjoyed the breakfast every day. We highly recommend the breakfasts - they carried us through lunch most days!

We had one dinner in the Eden Palace restaurant, Chez Gaston. The restaurant was a quiet understated establishment, but the service and food was most excellent. We both had Coquilles Saint-Jacques, and the dish was fabulous. The scallops could not have been any fresher or better prepared! Delicious!

We, a family of 3 adults stayed in this hotel (room #124) for one night.
The location of the hotel is at superb location, on the lake side.
It is also accessible by bus with the nearest stoppages within 50m walking distance.
Rooms: The room given was VERY spacious with common balcony and one can enjoy the lake siting there.
Bathroom: Was quite big and clean
Breakfast: Awesome spread with variety of fruits, meat, cheese, croissants.
The hotel has a well maintained interior with heritage look.

Stunning view It is enough to sit on the balcony meditate the view of the mountain and the lake together . The hotel is old and smelly in the lobby. There is no air conditioner in the hotel that night, the temperature exceeded 36 We couldn't sleep from the heat. Very good breakfast kind staff and helpful .

Hi - Breakfast is a buffet so has everything including eggs, sausage etc. as well as croissants, pain au chocolate and various types of bread - the only disappointing thing about the breakfast is the filter coffee but you can pay extra to order a cappuccino or espresso - if paying extra and it's a nice day, you should take your coffee before or after your breakfast downstairs sitting on the comfy chairs facing the lake. hope this is helpful.
