We had a room with a balcony that had water views & was located opposite the beautiful promenade. The room wasn’t huge but there was enough room for your bags and to move around. Everything was kept simple. Easy walking distance (flat & downhill) from the train station - if walking back to the train station, do so from the front street until you see the escalator taking you up to the train station.
Very modern and everything worked well. Lacked a few things like tea/coffee and fridge which would really make it fabulous!
The restaurant is downstairs (was very busy and sadly for us booked out when we stayed) and breakfast was provided. Standard continental of cereals, bread, yoghurt, ham, cheese, croissant. Sufficient to start the day.
Thankfully there is a lift to get you up to your room. We didn't encounter much noise at night so had a good sleep.
We had a great but short stay here and would recommend.

A fantastic experience from Checkin to Checkout !

Great support at Checkin from Padmila from Mexico & Francois from Switzerland, with both information on the local area and help with our luggage.

They could not have done more to support our stay from supplying a Montreux Riviera Card for free transport locally and discounts on attractions to a couple of Euro to Swiss mains adaptors for the room.

The room itself was at the top of the hotel and accessible via stairs for part of the way, but the views of the mountains and the lake were superb.

Breakfast was of a continental style, but reasonably priced for a Swiss hotel.

We also enjoyed eating on one of the nights in the adjoining restaurant which offers good Italian food including some nice dishes such as Arancini for starters and Spaghetti all Vongole (Clams) for a main course.

The cocktails were also great here !

Most of Montreux is walkable, although the trolley buses were easy to navigate and included in the card supplied.

Would we go back to this hotel if visiting Montreux again, 100% yes we would !

Nice hotel in the middle of Montreux. I booked a single room and got a nice double room which was bigger than expected - as normal for hotels located in traditional areas of a city. I can highly recommend it to travelers and couples staying for a few days in this area.

Upon arrival, I was experiencing discomfort due to gastric issues, but the courteous staff, notably a gentleman whose name I regrettably misplaced, provided exceptional service. Although we had reserved a junior suite, he graciously upgraded us to a suite with a bathtub, which greatly aided in my relaxation and alleviated my discomfort. The view from the suite was truly breathtaking, even on overcast days. I sincerely appreciate the thoughtful gesture and exceptional hospitality extended to us. Thank you very much for the memorable experience.
The location is excellent 5mins walk from the train station. Surrounded with shops and restaurants.
A true Gem in Montreux!

We stayed here for one night. We had a slight issue with our bed setup, and the management quickly helped to resolve. They truly went above and beyond to make sure that our needs were accommodated.

The location is excellent, right across from the waterfront and also an easy walk from the train station. The rooms were spacious and clean.

We did not eat at the restaurant but it was very busy, so it seems like it’s a popular dining destination.

Highly recommend this hotel for their great customer service, and comfortable accommodation!

Clean, updated, spacious room with big bathroom. Breakfast is 14 CHF/pp—limited choices. Fast WiFi. Convenient location. The bed was way too soft and the pillow too thick for our liking. No A/C and it gets HOT during the night, even in September. The room couldn’t be locked from the inside… No minibar or coffee machine in the room.

Great location and great service at the hotel. Clean rooms and comfy beds. Our room had a view and balcony towards the lake. Wonderful. If you are sensitive to noise it might be disturbing as you can hear the traffic below.

Lovely staff. Breakfast offers what one could need to start the day.

I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Functional room. We had a standard room, however it didn’t have the iPhone dock and radio as advertised on the website. It worked for what we needed - a base for going into the mountains. It wasn’t big but also wasn’t tiny. It had a decent shower. All the staff were friendly.
My only complaint is no tea or coffee. In almost every other hotel this is standard in any room now, but no hint of it!

As a part of our anniversary trip to Switzerland, we stayed at the La Rouvenaz in Montreux from the 22nd to the 24th of September 2011. It was quite a mixed experience, let me try to clearly list out the positives and negatives to help everyone choose better:

Pros:

LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! The hotel is at an excellent location, right across the street from the promenade. The Tourist information office is a 2 min walk, and so is the boat station. The railway station is also a 5 minute walk(if you know the way).

Cons:

1.) The hotel part is really a side business for them, no dedicated resource to look after it apparently. We had to go into the restaurant and ask waiters for help on check-in, check-out etc.

2.) Only 3 rooms have a lake view, the rest face a small street, with a wall right in front of the window. We were put up in a normal room(305 I think) for the first night, and couldn't sleep at all. There was a lot of noise coming in from the busy restaurant till late at night. The 2nd day, we requested them to shift us to a lake view room. So they shifted us to Room 301, which was brilliant. It was big, airy, and had a small balcony with a view of the lake.

3) The free breakfast was a disappointment again, especially for one of the best restaurants in town. One big loaf of hard bread(no other bread options), some choices of jams and cheese, fresh fruits, and cornflakes, plus coffee/hot chocolate. Nobody to provide any service, the leftover plates on the tables were taken away only after long gaps.

Having said all this, we were still satisfied because of the excellent location, and the room on the 2nd day.

p.s. There is no AC, so please keep that in mind in summers. And always insist on Rooms 303 or 305(I think even 304 has a lake view).

Set just round the corner from the Freddie Mercury Statue, right on the lake, this is a lovely hotel. When you book with them, they will ask you your approx. arrival time. If you are flying into Geneva, it is a 1hr 15min train to Montreux, then a 5 minute walk. When you get off the train go left and there is an Irish bar on the right called “Barrel-Oak”. Just after this are some steps that go down to the lake. Go down these (other reviews talk about escalators further down the street, well they were completely broken when we were there so don’t even bother). At the bottom of the steps go left, and La Rouvenaz is just down the street on the left.

If there is nobody at reception, there is a phone, pick it up and press the red button and someone will answer it and come down and check you in. You will be given details of how the hotel works, key cards, etc. The Wifi password is in the room. You are also given a “Riveria Card” for the duration of your stay. This allows you on any bus or train in the local area, which is great because it allows you to go to Chillon Castle, up to Glion via the steep mountain railway, and down to Vevey as much as you want, for free. This is simple because you just swipe the card on the bus, or show it on the mountain railways. Just down the road is the tourist information centre, who are fantastically helpful. The Queen experience is round the corner from the hotel also.

The room itself. I had a lake view which was amazing. You get a large flat screen TV on the wall. I couldn’t find any English Channels apart from BBC news, but I had my laptop to watch things on the internet. The internet was good but it did drop out a fair amount – confirmed by the fact I tested it my four connected devices. You get an en-suite with shower, which comes with hand soap and shower gel. The shower is really nice. The bed is so comfortable – probably the most comfortable bed in any hotel I have ever stayed. The windows are double glazed and when closed, they block out all the sound from the street. They also have outer shutters to block out the light (the sun sets into the room at 7pm (will be 8/9pm in high summer)). The rooms are cleaned daily

The hotel has a small bar, more of a wine bar which is nice to have pre-evening drinks. It also has a restaurant which we ate in twice, it is an Italian restaurant. The food here is really nice and the service great, there are other restaurants nearby but this one is probably one of the better ones anyway.

Lots of comments here about the lack of Choice on breakfast. There is a coffee machine, orange juice and other juices, cereals, yoghurts, toast which a large selection of jams, marmalade and Nutella, cheeses and hams, I think the selection was quite good. There are no things such as egg, bacon and beans.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT TIP: If you are landing in Geneva and planning to spend a few days across the lake, don’t pay trip at a time, in the airport train ticket office, ask for a Lake Geneva Regional Pass, it is 130CHF (£89 / €100 / $150) and it gives you 3 days free travel all across the lake region – any bus, train or boat, and 4 days of 50% off all tickets after that. For example a one way ticket from Geneva to Montreux is £45. You can go to Rochers De Naye on this ticket, and if you are staying at this hotel – you have to go there, platform 8 from Montreux station, you get AMAZING views of the lake from here.

Overall this is a fantastic hotel, it is immaculately clean and proud, the staff are all friendly and speak English, French and German (perhaps more), the rooms are comfortable, the views are good, the location is perfect, and they give you a travel card. The hotel emailed me after I left to say I had left a box of adapters in the room and offered to send them back to me. I said no, and to offer it to any guests who arrive and forget the adaptors. Remember you cannot use standard European adaptors, Switzerland have their own 3 pin plugs. If you arrive without one, ask the desk they may have one, if they do – it is one of mine – so remember to press the “helpful” button below. I will be back to Montreux and there is no doubt, I will stay again at Le Rouvenaz.

Hi, sorry about the delay. It is easy to get to, rooms are very clean, bright and well serviced. Cost I don’t remember but most things in Switzerland are expensive in comparison to other countries. The hotel was nice and well located. Cheers Colin
