Detailed Reviews
We booked here for 3 nights for the Freddie Mercury celebrations in September. We came by taxi at first as we had luggage. Check in wasn't open yet, but we were able to leave our luggage in their office and come back a few hours later.
We were checked in by Peter, lovely man, very knowledgeable and even offered us a drink while we checked in.
The room itself was quite small, but we were only there for sleeping or showering.
Having stayed in a hotel closer to the lake and casino which was quite shabby chic, the Tralala felt very modern and refreshing - despite not being able to make massive changes due to the structure most buildings in Montreux. The bathroom also felt very modern and there was a vast range of towels and toiletries.
Breakfast is simple, but many items to choose from and if you have a special requirement, it's no problem for the staff to help you out. Breakfast is served in a restaurant that is part of the hotel, very nicely decorated with various Montreux Jazz Festival posters and photos of musicians.
The bus pass is very handy as Tralala is quite steep to walk up to. Going down is not so bad.
Delighted to say that we enjoyed our stay so much that we immediately booked again when we came home, so we look forward to staying here again next year.
Highly recommended!

This is an emotional place for me and my wife, as our first stay together was in Tralala in Montreux. Since then, we've been back several times (the last time dating from a few years ago). Unfortunately there has been no modification or update... Rooms are still very small, as is the bathroom. There are a few hotels in the neighborhood that offer far better quality for (nearly) the same price. Location near the city center is still excellent.

Dear Robby, thank you very much for your feedback. It was a pleasure to see you here again. The hotel is located in an old historic building, there is a reason that we cannot demolish and modifiy the interiors. What we can do next time is to reserve a bigger room with bathtub and/or balcony. We hope to welcome you next year at the Tralala and do not hesitate to contact us for any question you may have. All the Tralala team wish you all the best. Kind regards

This hotel is unique for its charm and service; it has its own personality because of the personnel and the owner. The location is special for the view, breakfast is perfrect and the rooms are graced with Montreux Jazz artists. One feels the magic of the Waadtland :-) Bravo for the excellent service, attention, and experience. This will be my place in Montreux!

#1 This hotel does not have air conditioning.
Their address (Rue du Temple 2) does not correspond to their hotel entrance, which is one street over. The sign at the published address says that it's a night entrance only, and no one answers the door.
The front desk had limited language skills, which was disappointing for an international city like Montreaux. I couldn't get questions answered about my stay because of it.
I didn't get the room I booked. The room was very small, even for European standards, and would not have been comfortable for two adults. There is a single luggage rack [that was damaged and didn't stand upright], and no closet. The room was clean and the bathroom had good towels and toiletries. There was a 30cm oscillating fan for air circulation and the blackout curtains were oddly 50cm from the window, so hot air was still able to enter the room. The wifi worked, I didn't try the television, and the lockbox was not functional.
Despite advertised features, I didn't get the Riviera Card, the bottled water in the room, or the welcome drink, all of which are selling points in 30C weather. Between lack of refreshment and lack of air conditioning, it was a very uncomfortable stay.
Tralala is only a 2-star hotel. I'd rate the value at 0.5 out of 5, comfort 1 out of 5, and location 3 out of 5. There are other options nearby, all of which would be a better stay.
I would not stay here again, even if they offered a free night.

After a lovely stay last year for the Freddie Mercury celebrations, we immediately booked this hotel again.
We arrived just before lunchtime, greeted warmly by Paulo and a nice young lady. Our room was not ready yet, but we could store our luggage and we had a nice drink before we went down in to the town.
We came back after 2pm and given room 405. We were told it was the best room of the hotel. They were not kidding!! It has 4 balconies! I loved going out to each one each day and taking in the amazing sights! The room is very large and the bathroom is clean with plenty of towels and toiletries. The bed is also very comfortable, with two separate duvets which is handy so my husband can't steal the covers, haha!
We got our free bus tickets to go down into town and come back again. Late at night, we would get a taxi from the taxi rank at the station and get to the hotel that way - this is about 10-12 CHF.
After a nice stay we asked to book for next year as we did not want to miss out staying here again, within 5 minutes of checking out, I received an email confirming this.
Paulo and his staff are truly a delight - very cheerful and helpful, especially when I came back to the hotel on my own, took a shower, put my dress on and realised I needed the zip doing up! The lovely receptionist helped me out no bother.
Looking forward to next year already!

Nice hotel with an excellent staff, especially the manager who was very pleasant and helpful. Right across the street from the bus line so easy to get down to the waterfront. Breakfast was good, rooms were comfortable, though our room on the 3rd floor was too warm even in December so had to sleep with the window open. We would stay here again.

Myself my husband and our young son have just arrived home from 5 wonderful nights in this lovely quirky little hotel.
This hotel exceeded my expectations in every way.
Not only is the hotel in a lovely quiet little village like area with spectacular views over the lake the staff are FANTASTIC!
We had a number of activities cancel on us and both Paulo and MJ (Marie Julie) were on hand with fantastic suggestions so that we were not disappointed!
Breakfast in the morning was spot on and Paulo was always happy and jolly and would make our coffee to perfection. And in the evenings MJ was always a delight to have a talk to while we had a glass of the beautiful local wine. Nothing was too much for them :) they are a real asset to this hotel. There was another guy but we only had the pleasure of meeting him once and again he was so friendly.
We have stayed in a number of hotels in a number of locations varying from basic to 5* and I can honestly say this hotel was warm, welcoming and comfortable.
We will definitely return.
Thank you so much for an extremely enjoyable stay !! From the Corroll Family :)
PS we would love to know the name of the local white wine …. It was fantastic.

This hotel is slightly deceiving from the picture we saw when we booked. We were given a smoking room despite not requesting one (and being non smokers) and there were no amenities. The sound proofing is also very bad so you can hear people in other rooms. The staff were friendly and the receptionist was helpful in giving us restaurant recommendations though.

Absolutely stunning place, the staff is very curious and friendly. The breakfast is also nice and a paradise for music lovers. It was a short stay of 2 nights for us, wish we could have stayed more. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel and is also 10 minutes walk from the prominiyad.
