The location of this hotel is very good as the Metro station "Vennes" is just a floor down and by car its just a minute drive from the main highway exit "Lausanne-Vennes". Car parking costed 15CHF/night, which is also used by the Aquarium visitors, so it could be busy at times.

We booked "Sky Room XL", got room 340. The room itself is spacious, sofa was converted to sofa bed for the kid. It had two TV's, one in bedroom, one in main area. Few negatives here are that the windows were dirty. Eventhough the bathroom was spacious it missed few towel hangars to hang atleast 3 wet towels. Shower head was not tight, water was overflowing and shower head holder was defect. We went shortly to the family rooms, with a pool table with one broken cue. There are few things to get the kids entertained. The rooms are quite small. As we were alone at that time, it was okay.

We requested a half board, but dinner is not available on sundays. The breakfast was fine, nothing fancy, but basics and closes by 9:30. Also for dinner as well it closes early by 8:30pm, guess due to limited staff and covid situation. They should have kept the warmly eaten items like hash browns, bacon in warm containers because we always had it cold. The coffee machine offered everything you need. If you have a half-board, note that the dinner will only have one fixed menu a day. The day when we had our dinner they had a fish menu and as our stomach was upset, we asked if we could get any alternative. The chef was kind enough to provide another menu with chicken and a soup, which we really appreciate. And the food was very good. Just glanced the evening menu card which was not impressive for the price and is limited and was only available in french, which is bit odd as its marketed as a conference hotel.

Other positives are, they provided free travel card for the days you stay there, which is very useful to explore the city. You get a discounted ticket for Aquatis aquarium. All the staffs were nice and helpful. I will give 3.5 stars. If above things are fixed, we would come again.

We booked this hotel because the room sizes were very large, location was close to people we were visiting, and the price was good. It is a solid three-star hotel, but nothing more. No hot pot, no refrigerator, insufficient hangers. Breakfast was adequate, but nothing special. All in all, a "three" is what this hotel deserves.

We stayed at this hotel on our recent trip to Lausanne and it was an average experience. The hotel is modern with lots of airy spaces all around due to the size of the place. It shares the building with a few offices, aquatic park and some event/catering facilities. The rating of each area of our stay is as below.

1. Room: Very modern and spacious with all the facilities including a small safe. The bathroom was clean and nice the way we preferred. The downside was the ventilation in the room. The AC was blowing warm air despite it being a warm day and stopped working completely in the middle of the night which meant we had to open windows and listen to traffic noises on the motorway on the side.
2. Staff: The best part of the hotel. The lady who checked us in was extremely helpful and pleasant and greeted us with a smile every time we went to the reception. Explained things about the city and facilities and went through a proper check in.
3. Breakfast: Needs improvement especially if you're charging CHF22 per head for a full breakfast. The coffee was bland and my wife who's a vegan with gluten allergies didn't have options for breakfast apart from the fruit salads. Some fresh tomatoes and veg (not fried) with salad would have been better to make it inclusive.
4. Location: Fairly on outskirts of the city but we didn't mind as we drove in. Parking was CHF18 per night and you can park at the basement and access the hotel using the lifts.

Overall an average rating and the pricing was reasonable for the room.

Dear Sanka1, We thank you so much for your feedback! We are delighted that our staff has lived up to your expectations and met your needs. Indeed, our hotel is equipped with a mineral system, which allows cooling and warming the room gently. This system is mandatory for all new hotels in Switzerland. However, do not hesitate to ask for a fan at the reception. We take note of your suggestions concerning the breakfast. Gluten-free bread is available on request in the restaurant. Kind regards, Manon Le Cann

We booked 2 rooms in this hotel for 8 nights because it's close to our Daughter's apartment.
We arrived on 31st December, around 20:00.
There were 5 people waiting in line and only 1 receptionist.. and God, he took his time...
We had booked a "family room", for the space.. but, without any request they had turned the sofa into a bed.. thus wasting this space.
When we went back to ask to turn it again into sofa, the receptionist became very unpleasant.. saying, it could be done "the next day"
Eventually, he agreed to get it done in the evening, while we were going to have dinner.
The room is big, indeed, but so poorly fitted.. No refrigerator, 3 hangers (for a family room), Swiss only plugs..
It's rated "3 stars" in Switzerland, probably worth only 1 star.
The next morning, we went for the breakfast, for 15 CHF per person, we could expect some service.
In fact, there was a single waitress for about 25 tables at 09:00 on 1st January..
It seems the management of this hotel has no idea about management of hospitality (and this is one of the closest hotel to EHL, the world renowned Hospitality School) allocate personnel according to demand and hire extras according to probable use of services.
They just want to make money out of the visitors they do not care for !
So we move to another hotel after 2 nights.

Dear rlangdoc, We are very sorry to read that our property was not up to your expectations. A wave of reservations arrived last minute from December 31 to January 1, which explains the wait at the reception or at breakfast. We are sorry for this. This does not reflect the quality of service we usually provide. For the plugs in the rooms, indeed, they are Swiss plugs, as we are in Switzerland. However, adapters are available at the reception and lent free of charge. We wish you a good day. Sincerely, Manon L

Overall, we had a very bad experience staying at the Aquatis hotel. The front desk staff was mostly incompetent (only exception was the short guy who spoke Italian). Checkin was supposedly at 3 pm but they kept delaying it till around 3.30 pm. Bathroom was moldy and wardrobe had a crack in it. Some kids tv channels were not available. There was nothing to do at the hotel after visiting the aquarium. One would be much better off staying in the city and visiting the aquarium by metro (directly above metro line 2 Vennes station; about 20 mins).

Booking the hotel/aquarium combo is more expensive than booking first the aquarium „stand-alone“, and then the hotel separately. Reason being that you receive a 30% discount voucher for the hotel when you purchase the aquarium tickets.
Of course, this is not transparent on the hotel‘s/aquarium‘s website, and when you find out, it‘s too late.
Needless to say I raised the matter with the hotel. And needless to say this was not successful. Instead of looking forward to the stay, I felt ripped-off even before I arrived.
I do not support this kind of business behaviour and will surely do no further booking with this hotel.

This is an hotel that I would definitely recommend when staying in Lausanne. The location is really good: it's outside the city center but the metro station is right in the building and you can get there by car easily. The room was large, comfortable and clean, the staff has always been nice and helpful.

Once again we gave a chance to this hotel. The position is very easy and hotel is good when in need of a quick stop. But, again, the service is a disaster. Despite the receptionist was very welcoming on arrival around 6pm, we were astonished by the way a receptionist came to tell us that we couldn't take hot water from the machines in the recpetion. If the machines are there, a CLIENT may expect he can use them, this is natural and obvious. If they can't be used, just cover or turn them off! And in case a CLIENT makes such "mistake", the person in charge may eventually and KINDLY say that machines shouldn't be used. Just a rude attitude, worth a street motel...

Dear LucaVenice, Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am sorry to read the way the receptionnist talked to you was rude. I have already speak with him about this incident and he did not have the feeling to be rude and appologize for this. The buffet with the machines where installed in the lobby for a seminar, it was exceptionnal and I assure you there were some signs on it. Once again, we are sorry about this. I wish you a great day, Best regards, Manon

I stayed for one night with my small son, and was pleasantly surprised how well-oriented the hotel was to accommodate our needs. We stayed in an XL room with a child's cot and a double bed for me, and the space was extremely spacious. The staff went above and beyond, especially the man at the front desk called Eduardo. He searched for a lost toy and delivered it to our door, much to the happiness of my son. Otherwise, the set up of the hotel with a games room and in such close proximity to the aquarium and restaurant made for a very enjoyable stay. We would certainly return.

What we liked: the hotel is modern and well located: just on top of the metro station. Facilities are new. Rooms are decently sized and clean. Breakfast was very good an breakfast staff very friendly. Metro ticket for the whole stay.

What we didn’t like: reception is slow and weird (one of the receptionists began to tell us his entire life and to ask personal questions; this was awkward). In the room, the a.c. didn’t work correctly; they said it’s set to a standard temperature. But what does “standard” mean anyway? Not enough soap in the shower. Very filthy windows. The restaurant has an odd feeling of desertion.

Aquatis hotel has a great potential. I hope they realize this in order to implement a better policy and - above all - to instruct their staff!
