The lobby (semi private room) is set off from the reception desk with 5 sofas & 2 coffee tables. Would be great to spread out & relax here before or after checkout.
The front desk crew was able to give my husband a small bag of ice every night❤️
The breakfast was included 0630-10 (little later on WE): breads, meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, milk, OJ, yogurts, granola, cereals. & the server will bring a pot of coffee or tea to your table too (this part is Not self serve so no running down to grab a cup to bring back to your room before coming down to eat) this was a GREAT value once you see the $ of food in Lausanne!!!
Location: go strait out of train station, cross the st & ahead you will see The Stairs…once up, you are there OR exit train & look left..head towards the McDonalds & take a rt there which begins the steep incline & the next rt to Elite(with incline too).
The outside garden: loved it! 1 table with a few chairs & then another identical set further set back by the trees. (The loungers with umbrellas weren’t there as seen in previous pics)
Swiss receptacles: they were recessed at Elite except for the one in the bathroom that Could accept the EU plug. Also on the back of the tv, there was a usb plug to charge.
I’ve been to Lausanne before & Elite far surpassed my last hotel in value/$/comfort!
Travelling to and from Lausanne is mostly by rail from Geneva (there is no airport in Lausanne) so the hotel's location is a big plus for me, just a short walk from the train station. It is also very close to the town's central district, and a 15 minute walk from the lake.
After having tried many of the more expensive hotels in the area (and they can be very pricey) I have adopted the Elite, which provides me with everything I need, including high-speed WiFi internet service (for a fee). Lack of a gym or other fitness facility is compensated by geographical location... you can't walk anywhere without a steep hill to climb.
For an extended stay (more than 2 nights) avoid the small "single" rooms, that although very efficiently laid out, are small enough to drive you nuts, and have a single bed, up against the wall.
Last time I was there, I was given this small single room on the first night (it did however have a great view of the lake and the alps). When I mentioned the next morning that the room was really small (I was staying 9 nights) I came back that same evening and they had changed me to a larger room (I always get the same one !) and moved all of my stuff for me, and perfectly laid it out as I had in the first room ! The surcharge was less than 10 CHF per night, and well worth it.
All in all, a great deal.
The hotel is close to city bus stops and excellent restaurants, all within walking distance.
We stayed 6 nights and were very pleased with our choice of hotels. I would stay there again.
