This may be the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at & we travel quite a bit! We did have a room in the newly renovated part of the hotel, so I don’t know what other rooms look like. But all of our lighting, air, room darkening shades were wall activated and included bedside chargers. The bathroom included a large separate tub which we used, as well as a shower area. The spa is magnificent! We used all the amenities & the service impeccable. The terrace restaurants and grounds are amazing to walk, get a drink or for meals. We also were given 2 passes for an electric boat we took for 2 hours around Lake Geneva- my favorite thing we did! Thank you to Maxcense our concierge for the tips we were given for our wine tour in Lavaux plus more! It may seem pricey but it is well worth it!

Sublime stay during August at this lovely Swiss hotel on the shores of Lake Geneva. Clean, comfortable rooms, more pillows and towels than two people could possibly need contribute to the feeling of luxury and well being. Cafe Beau Rivage has an excellent and varied menu and should have a Michelin star.

The only downside, in my opinion, was breakfast. Prior to Covid 19 it was mainly buffet with a served egg menu. Now some of the fruit is still help yourself and although some of it was laid out cling filmed, a lot of it wasn’t. The bread basket prior to Covid was placed on individual tables but now, totally inexplicably, is laid out buffet style. Surely a danger? This should be rethought and rearranged.

Nothing will ever match the emotional intensity I felt of being surrounded by my favourite restaurant staff at the Cafe Beau Rivage last summer and discovering that the magical ingredients of efficient charm and fabulous cooking was intact untrammelled by the events of 2020. Nevertheless my experience this year was, unbelieveably, better.

From the moment of my check in by the delightfull young lady to the the gracious young man who provided water as I began my onward journey and everyone in between I was once again taken by the Beau Rivage Embrace. Politeness and respect are etched in to the teams DNA.

This time I used the spa for treatments. The environment is state of art offering quiet tranquilty before you even start your journey,

Beau Rivage have wisely invested heavily in the Spa to ensure it is a discrete special experience. There is no point in having a wonderful therapist if you are listeniing to the sound of traffic or other extranenous noise all of which is absent at BR Lausanne.

I returned after the re fit of what I call the main building and the reception area looks as glorious as ever. My room in the main builiding had that seemless style of the BR so as a returning guest you immediately feel at home. That said the electronics are even more advanced than ever and most importantly are easy to use. Star Trek comes to Lausanne. I must also compliment the service staff who ALWAYS serviced the room as quickly and timely as possible.

Breakfast remains buffet style, not my favourite technique, but thanks to the staff it does work and the quailty of the food offering is high.

However I must reserve my final comments for the Cafe Beau Rivage. The food was once again exquisite, the wine selections first class and this is the best restaruant team bar none who combine flare, style and effiicency in equal measure BUT also come across as real and sincere people taking pleasure in yours.

Thank you to everyone for a wonderful four days.

This Grand Hotel of great history, that I used to visit years ago , seems to be sleeping on the glorious of the past! Bad service and mismanagement unfortunately encountered on many parts of the hotel. Here only two of them lived a day ago:

Several seats were available at the garden terrace facing the lobby. 3 friendly people sitting there invited me to their table and to take one of the armchairs next to them, which I did .

Comes the waitress asking if I was with these 3 people, which of course I denied being alone. Here upon the waitress argued that then she could not serve me as the management requests only one bill per table , even if like here there obviously were seats for minimum 6 personnes and we were 3 + 1. At this moment the 3 friendly persons argued not accepting that position of the waitress and that , if necessary, they then would invite me, in order to allow that tricky manager to print only one bill!

But by courtesy I refused this solution and the waitress disappeared.... She came back a few minutes later saying that she had a table for me on the upper terrace named Les Arcades. Normally I should not have accepted this “delocalisation”, but it was a sunny day and I was, still, of good humor. Once installed under “Les Arcades” nobody cared for me. When finally , after at least 15 minutes, I could order (a croque-monsieur and a drink), it took over 45 minutes to get that snack! And top of the top: that croque-monsieur must have been forgotten somewhere in the kitchen, and was served quasi cold ! Which means “uneatable”. I got a card of the manager in charge (Jordan Rat-Cacciapaglia), but he never showed up .

The whole place is definitely no more what it once was and far away from a 5 star establishment .

Dear Mr. Charles Louis C, Thank your for taking the time to tell us about your experience at the Lobby Lounge. I regret that it did not fully fulfill your expectations and understand your disappointment regarding our service and follow up. Please be assured that your constructive feedback is already being considered for our future organization and that we will think about a solution regarding the number of bills per table, in order to avoid this type of situation to happen again. I remain at your entire disposal if you would like to contact me directly at: f.stefanin@brp.ch. We hope to welcoming you back in the near future to the Beau Rivage Palace. In April 2019 we celebrated my son’s 1st birthday at this luxury hotel. We chose Beau Rivage because it’s the one place we frequently visited in the 1st year of my son’s life and we felt it symbolised a lot of the fun memories we’d had when we became a family of four. The frequent visits were to the spa where my other child took private swimming lessons each Saturday. So on the happy occassion of the birthday we booked a table for 6 (incl 2 children) for the afternoon tea menue. I had also specially ordered for a theme cake fir which I had exchanged several e-mails with the hotel staff. While the hotel itself is beautiful decor wise with an amazing view over lake Geneva, on this occassion I didn’t feel that the service matched the high-end ambience of the hotel. The staff was friendly but extremely stressed it seemed, causing a lot of delay to our order snd to top it off- the staff never served us or reminded us to avail of the desserts which were part of the menue. We literally left the place without having a third of the meal we had paid for.

Beau Rivage Palace could rest on it's laurels and probably still do well given it's location and surrounding area. But, it truly is a special experience. All staff are courteous and quite helpful. Our room was beautiful and had many modern touches. Everything in the room could be controlled electronically and you can tell extra effort was made to anticipate the needs of the modern traveler. The spa is beautiful and guests can take advantage of the pool, sauna and ice room to relax and unwind. We dined in their two star Michelin rated restaurant that had excellent service. The breakfast buffet is massive, you can order your eggs cooked to your liking and they have an adorable kids buffet table with their own special plates and popcorn for breakfast. Overall a great experience and definitely the spot I will choose when returning to Lausanne.

To return to the Beau Rivage after an absence of two years and experience the same perfect blend of efficient service, exquisite food offerings in elegant surroundings warms the heart.

Indeed the food offerings had moved up a notch and were that much more powerful and exciting.

What makes the Beau Rivage special though is a simple human trait. It is the provision of hospitality with the perfect blend of charm, sophistication and good manners and whether it is the increasing use of technology or health care protocols that essence of the place is never distilled or reduced or diverted as a result of current circumstances whatever they maybe.

As I grow older I value the experience more than ever and I feel sure that when I return those qualities which are written into the DNA of the staff will be once again be on display and I will have the chance to bask in it once more.

How could you not give this hotel the very to rating? We stayed in a large junior suite with lake view and the weather was beautiful. This historic hotel must have been fully renovated not too many years ago. All the public areas are sublime and grand. A grand hotel in the truest sense of the word. The breakfast room is huge and the buffet perfectly set up and presented. We ate at three restaurants in the hotel during our stay (see my other reviews) and although service was impeccable at the Michelin starred restaurant, it was inadequate at the other two places. Still no reason to rate the hotel with anything less that with 5 points. It must be said that due to its pricing, the hotel caters first and foremost to an elitist crowd of which I am happy to say we are not part of. We ususally enjoy the grand hotels of this world that are more informal and relaxed, but we indulged ourselves into the priviledged and extraordinary world of the Beau-Rivage Lausanne for a short moment of our lives and are not likely to return again to this wonderful place.

We've traveled all over the world, and been lucky enough to stay at great places. Quite simply, this place beats them all.

The cleanliness, elegance of the hotel which was perfectly maintained/updated, location on the lake, great staff, fantastic breakfast selections, spa, pool - it was all perfect. I simply cannot find any deficiency.

My wife and I want to return from the US simply to stay at this hotel for 1 week.

Free metro tickets during the course of your stay.
Disposable swim attire at spa of you didn't pack your bathing suit.
Very educated, helpful concierges. Great front desk. Sweet spa staff.
All posted charges include VAT, so easy bill at checkout.
Hotel owns 2 sister properties down the street and a few other restaurants (including 1 downtown), so can charge them to room as well.

Impeccably maintained, well trained, HAPPY staff, beautiful property, idyllic setting on the lake.

Check out Olympic museum next door - worth it, very well done. Free admission if you have swiss travel pass.

We had a memorable stay in a lovely hotel.

The quality of the decor matches the well executed blend of old and new in the two parts of the hotel. And our bedroom was lovely, restful and well equipped (though the shower unit was old, tired and in need of upgrading).

The spa at first sight looks wonderful as do changing rooms and surrounding areas. But, they are not well looked after. For example, the men's steam room is suffers from two big flaws - the upper level is not hot and the lower level is not even warm. And, the few staff were absent and therefore were not available to help guests around the outdoor pool area snd in the ladies' changing rooms and surrounding areas the floors had been allowed to remain wet and slippery, and this led to an unfortunate accident.

Our party also suffered from what felt like a certain arrogance on the part of front desk staff who thought it was alright to impose an additional charge in circumstances where a reasonable person would have thought the charge should simply have been waived, not least as it was relatively trivial when compared with the substantial overall bill incurred by our party. This has led to a lose-lose outcome. The guest feels unfairly wronged and the hotel favours gouging over class and fairness.

So, there is plenty of scope for improvement whether in relation to maintenance, service or basic customer relations.
