Nestled in Lausanne, the Royal Savoy Hotel garners high marks for its enviable location near the lake and public transit, making for a convenient and enjoyable stay. Its clean and spacious rooms, coupled with a modern yet elegant atmosphere, contribute to its reputation for comfort. While the service and amenities, including a luxurious spa, have received commendations, some guests suggest there's room for improvement. Though on the expensive side, especially regarding additional services like room service, many feel the overall quality offers good value.

My husband and I enjoyed our 7 nights stay at the hotel. Upon arrival, the staff was welcoming. The room was nice but not large enough to accommodate us so we requested a larger room. Bath robes and slippers were provided. There was no welcome gift beside a small chocolate bar. Water was provided on arrival in the room for free but not every day as in other 5* hotels. The coffee maker was convenient, however I had to request coffee pods, tea gas, and 2 large cups every day. The spa and the pool area are clean but both closed at 9:00 pm. The service during breakfast was not good for a 5*. The server took our order but another server delivered it to another table. We had to wait another 15 minutes to get our tea and coffee. Not the best service.

What a lovely hotel situated on walking distance from the busy waterfront of the lake. Breakfast is served to your table and everything is made possible due to the nice staff and personell. Breakfast was possible outdoor with a great view of the beautiful garden. Although during the weekend we got the feeling it was at its maximum capacity, during week days it is more peaceful. The Spa with its indoor and outdoor pool is well kept and high standard. As we were staying for 5 days, the entrance few of 50CHF per person per day was a bit too much, in our opinion. Then again everything costs money in Switserland. The rooms are spacious and our kids were situated next to our room as requested. The Royal Savoy will do anything in their order to make their guests happy. One morning we had an early tee time to play golf and they managed a great small breakfast to go with coffee. We loved our stay with a family of 5, with three teen kids. Switserland at its finest!

Stayed at this hotel for a well with my mum aiming for a relaxing and pampered holiday which we did have for the most part. We chose an executive room with balcony and spa access which was well placed and had partial view of the lake and mountains even if only on the second floor. The hotel is quite nice, the location is really good, great rooftop bar and the facilities are well maintained and offer a good experience. I would’ve rated this as an excellent stay if it weren’t for a few points which were unexpected for such a hotel and price tag:

1. The first thing we noticed the first night was that the shower head from the bathtub was broken which was a bit inconvenient but more than anything surprising. I assume that’s something easily noticeable by the cleaning staff who may need to use it to clean the bathtub before someone checks in… so rather surprised how that was not fixed before our arrival. in any case it was promptly fixed once we informed the reception.

2. There was never a replenishment of the body lotion… I did not inform about this but I kept thinking day after day that this would happen by itself but it didn’t… also I can’t say that the daily cleanliness of the room was top notch.

3. On occasion the restaurant staff seemed a bit chaotic at breakfast without coming over to ask what we’d like to drink even though it was not very busy. Also there was no mention about the menu that you could order from so if you didn’t know about it then tough luck… which was rather disappointing as we only realised during the last couple of days.

Apart from these hiccups we had a good and relaxing stay and I would consider returning with the expectation that these

Oh and almost forgot to mention.. I did love the fluffiest towels, bathrobe and slippers ever. :D

Ive been coming to Lausanne for 18 years every late winter for work and I usually stay at Beau Rivage. This year their spa was closed so I chose to stay at the RS for 4 nights. The rooms are renovated in a modern masculine manner and the overall hotel has a fresh clean feel. The spa has a private jacuzzi for women and a shared one with actually warm water which is much better than at Beau Rivage where the jacuzzi is always cold (don’t ask why). Unfortunately the breakfast is pretty basic for a 5 star hotel with extremely limited options (no vegetables or fresh fruit beside oranges, no vegan, always the same). The BR wins here big time. The service is also very cold and distant, especially from the tall waiter in the breakfast room who seems to hate every client coming through the door. Very uncomfortable to be around him but I guess that’s the Swiss attitude in a way. The cleaning service was also a bit strange. The room has an nespresso machine and very nice TWG tea but the cleaning staff cleaned the used cups and never brought them back. Also after I opened a soap bar, was removed and never replace. Really funny.
The location is neither in the city center nor the lake but is walking distance to the lake -8 min and to the city -14 min up the hill.
Overall I wouldn’t come back if I can. This is not really a 5 star except for the spa area (which by the way you can only reach through the hotel lobby/lounge bar while guests in suits are having their drinks. Not very comfortable.

Dear LorelaiUSA, We thank you for choosing Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa for your recent getaway in Lausanne. Your feedbacks are precious ensuring we provide memorable moments to our guests. Among your various suggestions, we took good note of your comments in regards to our breakfast offer improvment. Hence, we kindly inform you that we already organized its redesign. Also, we kindly inform you that, as per Trip Advisor content policy, part of your comment is not relevant, as it "promotes intolerance for individuals or groups of people based on their race, gender, religion, sexual preference, or nationality." Great location, lovely property. The interior of the hotel is lovely. The pool area and gym was too crowded so we didn't use it. We were very disappointed on a number of levels. No welcome upon arrival at the hotel which was rather peculiar. The bed in the room was not fixed to the wall and moved each time you sat up. Rather disconcerting, never experienced this before. Room service was hit and miss. Breakfast was lovely although it was hit and miss with the service levels. We encountered some exceptional staff and some not so exceptional. Bar service was very good. Staff made a lot of effort in some cases but appeared to be rushing around all the time and kept forgetting essential items during meal times. It became irritating to constantly have to ask for salt and pepper, butter etc. We waited 15 minutes for a drink at dinner after we were seated. We got bored trying to get attention and cancelled our second dinner on Saturday evening as we felt it would be such a chore to get proper service, plus we are paying Clients so why waste your money if you can get better treatment elsewhere. We provided our feedback to management which was acknowledged but didn't really help with our current stay as the damage was done. There was one exceptional member of staff who is the reason for my average rating which would otherwise have been poor. Thank goodness for him. We will try the Beau Rivage on our next visit.

When my train to France was cancelled due to ongoing strikes, I found myself with an extra night in Switzerland and decided to stay at the Hotel Royal Savoy, which was a fabuloous choice. Although I generally go for small boutique hotels, I loved the look of the hotel, its location facing the lake in one direction and the city on the hill in the other, the look of the rooms, the wooden flooring (I try to avoid carpeting at all costs) and although expensive, a relatively good deal for a grand old hotel of this quality. The room was very modern, chicly designed wtih a fabulous view of the city. The hotel is a short walk from the Lake and the Olympic museum, and is right across the street from the Metro which makes getting to anything quick and easily. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The spa was beautiful - with a great sauna, hamman, hot tub and cold plunge pool, and a beautiful indoor outdoor pool which was pleasant in the fresh air even though it was cold out. That is a luxury! I had a continental breakfast in my room for a very reasonable 13 CHF. There are a relatively small amount of choices in Lausanne for hotels, but The Royal Savory was fantastic in every way and if you find yoursel in Lausanne, don't hestiate to stay here!

Great Spa and excellent restaurant. Breakfast was very tasty with a wide variety. The reception and house keeping could be more customer focused and better trained. Requests were not fulfilled and the house keeping was not on par with a 5 Star hotel.

This hotel has very good location and private atmosphere. It's safe, cozy, clean and exceptional. The service is extremely superb. There is quick breakfast provided opposite to front desk before operating hours of the main restaurant in the morning. The spa is also distinctive and special. During Christmas time, there was a chalet inside the hotel that you could have enjoyable dinner or mingle with your friends happily in the evening or at night. I highly recommend.
