Detailed Reviews
The location of this hotel is perfect, just steps away from the older part of the city, a block from a Coop, and about a 20 minute walk to the train station for taking day trips. The washroom and shower were spacious and clean.
The view from our room (304) and balcony of the lake and city was beautiful. However, the hotel sits only a few feet away from a busy road so the room was incredibly noisy all day with the sound of cars, trucks, and motorcycles, too noisy to leave the balcony door open for air at night so we slept in a warm room. On warm days the outdoor seating for the restaurant was two stories below us so we got to the add the noise of people dining outside to our evening noise.
We had a junior suite which gave us more space. The décor in the room was a bit tired and would benefit from an update. The two ultrasuede chairs and loveseat were old and had black stains on them from age and use. The pillows were horrible and when we asked for firmer pillows we were told that’s all they had. Terribly thin pillows and a warm room made for terrible sleep. We’re pretty sure we had a top sheet when we arrived but it disappeared after a room clean. The room was so warm at night we didn’t need or want the bed quilt. We asked for another top sheet or any kind of sheet which appeared to confuse the front desk. When we got back to our room someone had left two huge banquet table cloths on our bed for top sheets!
We didn’t want to pay the 50 CHF for breakfast each day ($75 for us) so we got breakfast snacks at the Coop instead. The staff were not overly friendly and one staffperson at the front desk had a dog that barked and barked behind her.
Have stayed in much quieter and more comfortable hotels than this one.

We were surprisingly pleased with our stay at Hôtel de la Paix in November, 2021. We chose to stay because of the location and level of service, but then were impressed by the quality of the room interiors (which the pictures didn't do justice to).
The front desk staff was exceptionally helpful securing us a last minute reservation for dinner w/ our kids at Le Chat Noir, which was a fantastic meal. The front desk had to call many places to find a place with availability and they were happy to do so.
And the location was close to everything - Restaurants of all kinds, coffee shops, the cathedral, the main sights downtown. The train station was a bit further but still just a long walk. The hotel also includes a free transit pass.
I would highly recommend Hôtel de la Paix if you're staying Lausanne, a beautiful city.

+1
A four star Boutique hotel , this proved to be a very good choice mainly due to its central location ( walking distance to every place of interest), rooms (good size, comfortable/clean bedding furniture), bathrooms, balconies, view, bar/restaurants to name a few. Hotel was clean n parking was available too. Staff was very friendly n helpful too. Had a bar n restaurant with nice outdoor seating. Was worth the price. I will definitely repeat it n recommend it too👌👍

We stayed here during the long weekend and the hotel was very quiet due to the COVID situation. We called the front desk and reserved directly. The room was nice and had a great view of the lake, specially in the mornings. The breakfast was good but a bit slow ( understandably). We brought our bike to circle around the Lake area and they were really ice and accommodating.

First of all, when searching to do my review the hotel is actually called De la Paix. So I'm not sure why it is listed here as "Del" causing me to have a hard time locating the hotel on Trip Advisor. This is a very large and fancy hotel. It has a nice restaurant attached. The rooms are very roomy and if your room is on the lake side and high enough up, you will have a great view of the lake and the French alps. Beware that they inform you of the time breakfast is served (in the restaurant) and it sounds like the breakfast is included with your hotel stay. It is not. It cost us $25 per person. It's a nice walk to the town's metro which you can take down to the lake and the Ouchy neighborhood. The town is 'on a hill'. This hotel is midway up that hill from the lake, so it would be quiet a walk down to the lake; but is close to good shopping and the main part of downtown Lausanne.

On a recent trip to Lausanne, I had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel de la Paix. I had a charming room with a great view overlooking Lake Geneva. The decor of this hotel is classic and luxurious, and I found the desk in my room to be very practical. Service is impeccable throughout the hotel. Breakfast is served in a nice ground floor room with great views over the lake. Lausanne is a beautiful city, but very hilly, so staying at a hotel like this one which is right in the centre of town was very useful as one can go back to the hotel for a bit of a rest after all that rather tiring climbing lots of steps! I look forward to my return trip to this excellent hotel and lovely city.

We stayed at the hotel as part of a tour group. The hotel staff was very accommodating, professional, and helpful. Check in was an easy process, and we were allowed to check our bags while we checked out the area, as we had arrived early in the day. Our room was extremely clean, with toiletries available. The rooms with a veranda are truly lovely to overlook the lake or people watch if you have a veranda that overlooks the town (our corner room was wonderful with both). There were several elevators available for us, so there was rarely a wait time. We also visited the bar in the evening, and were provided with a nice wine and beer selection. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

There were so many hotels to choose from in the area, we made the best choice with Hotel De la Paix!
The location was perfect to walk around the area which has shopping, restaurants, cafes and historical sites. It is also a close walk to the Metro, Switzerlands only subway, which was great to take to and from the lake. Note- Lausanne area is very hilly, so have comfy shoes!
All of the staff we encountered during our week's stay were very courteous and helpful.
Our room had a view of Lake Geneva- highly recommend as it is beautiful. We had a king size bed, two chairs, small table, desk, etc. Roomy enough for two adults. The bathroom was spacious, with good amount of counter space (especially compared to other European hotels), and good size walk in shower.

Reception was friendly and accommodating, both with an early check in and prompt delivery of shower soap. The rooms were spacious and clean and we really enjoyed the location. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant were satisfactory. Rooms were nice and quiet

We stayed here two nights after exploring the Jungfrau region. I chose this hotel based on reviews and city center location. The room was large, clean and had a 180 degree view of Lake Geneva. Our room rate did not include breakfast (only hotel of our two week stay that did not), but they did allow me to get coffee. Close to the metro, which was an easy ride down to explore the lake. When we arrived by train, we were not aware that we could use the metro, and walked up a very steep hill to get to the hotel. If I had a better idea of the area, as tourists staying only a couple days I would have opted to stay in O'uchy which is lakeside.
