Great location, room was clean with a very small bathroom (standard double, view of main street and a bit of mountain), staff was super friendly, and breakfast selection was REALLY good with an assortment of meat, cheese, champagne, there's juicer if you want to make some fresh juices, and they take orders for eggs and coffee.

The only complain I have is the wifi. At $541 CHF for 2 nights, I expected their wifi to be at least usable for basic browsing when I have some down time at night. It was disappointingly slow. To the point where I ended up using hotspot from my phone so I can browse on my laptop. I did point this out to the staff after my first night and I was told they will look into it to make sure there's no issue. The wifi was still an issue on my second night. I believe it's an issue with signal reaching? I was in room 311 if I remember correctly. It was not a huge issue for me as I was only there for 2 nights. However, at a premium rate they should look into upgrading their wifi.

Hotel Pollux is a terrific option if you're looking for a reasonably priced hotel right on the main street in Zermatt. It's conveniently located to all the shopping and restaurants. It's a bit of a hike to the Zermatt gondola, but there is a bus that stops by the river and is about a 5-7 min walk up. The train station is a 3-4 min walk away, as is the train up to Gondergrat. The funicular is about 7-8 min walk as well.
The rooms are very clean, but a little on the small side. Amenities, such as bar, sauna and restaurant are all great. Can even buy your ski tickets at the reception desk. The room was hot (can't control the heat), and our room windows were right on the main street, so we heard people coming home from bars at 2am. Try to get a room on the back side of the hotel.

We (my husband, myself and our 19yo son) arrived in Zermatt from St. Moritz on the Glacier Express. Hotel Pollux is a short walk from the main train station (turn right when you exit the station and walk down the main street about 3 minutes, the hotel will be on your right.) We were greeted by a friendly receptionist who took our information and promptly handed us our key. We had a family room which had two sleeping areas (one a bunk room) two bathrooms and a streetside balcony. The room was spotlessly clean…the decor rustic modern ski chalet. In the evening, one of our two tvs displayed a crackling fire which was a nice touch. There were robes and slippers available for our use, a small fridge and plenty of storage. Perfect for our two night stay. Also, in the hallway outside our room there was an open skylight with a ladder…we checked it out and it offered a view of the Matterhorn. Fun! Breakfast was included in our rate and it was fine…freshly squeezed oj, coffee, mimosa, cereal, breads, yogurt and fruit. We ate dinner onsite at Pinte one night and it was lovely. We enjoyed a cozy corner booth and had a fondue feast paired with a lovely Swiss wine. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable…we really enjoyed the experience. Zermatt itself is a charming walkable lively village with lots to offer…a trip to gornergrat on a sunny day should be top of your list. If, like us, you’re looking for a convenient well priced clean hotel with loads of charm, I highly recommend you give Hotel Pollux a try.

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Hotel Pollux. We were in for a ski trip and the entire staff was friendly and helpful every step of the way from reservation to check out.
They helped us with dinner reservations prior to our arrival, directed us for good skiing areas on the mountain, even had champagne in our room for my husbands 50th birthday.

They went above and beyond, we did not enjoy our first room ( loud and on the main street side) and moved us to a room on the back that was as cute as can be.

Breakfast was plentiful( we didn’t realize we could order eggs, waffles and the like) until almost the last day)

Location right down on the Main Street, fun lobby bar that opens at 5.

One tip: This hotel runs a little warm and you may need to open windows so keep in mind if you are reserving, that being on the street is more noisy than usual with a window open.

We booked a package that includes one night in Fluhalp and glad we did! We treasured the serenity of the place and the unobstructed view of the Matterhorn.
Pollux Hotel is centrally located. We were met at the train station and greeted by a friendly lady at the reception. Our Family Suite had the view of the Matterhorn which was the main reason why we came to Zermatt. Breakfast is very good. One has the option to order eggs, sausages and grilled vegetables served fresh at the table. Different kinds of cheese, cold cuts, fresh fruits and rolls are abundant. Fresh orange juice is a plus esp to my youngest daughter who enjoyed cutting and squeezing the oranges. On our third night, we had a 3-course Dinner which was delicious. Everything met our expectation! I would highly recommend the hotel and hope to be back soon, perhaps in Winter?!

This hotel is located on the main strip, close to the train station and two of the slopes but noise was never an issue.

The rooms are well appointed, hotel staff is very friendly/helpful and the bar is a perfect spot at the end of the day to grab a drink by the fire.

There is a hot tub but it didn't have water in it and we went to go to the sauna and it was closed.

There is also a ski room so you don't have to trek your gear to your room after skiing.

Breakfast included made to order eggs and the staff was super attentive and nice.

If we ever go back, and I hope we do, we will stay here again for sure.

Wife and I stayed at Pollux four nights just before Christmas, loved this hotel and would definitely choose to stay here again. There are a couple large, expensive hotels very close, and Pollux is NOT in that category, so everything is relative. Pollux offered nice-size rooms, on-site ski storage, restaurant and bar are local "cool places to be", super easy walk to/from the train station, and it is literally located in the middle of the village with cools shops and restaurants all around. I actually changed my initial reservation to the Pollux due to a review complimenting Pollux's spa facility, and this was a very good decision. Again, their spa is not a huge, fancy complex, but nicely appointed with a jacuzzi tub, sauna, and lounge area, perfect for relaxing after ski day and before hitting the town for the evening.

Going the extra mile: I accidentally left a personal item in my room at check-out and the Pollux staff emailed me IMMEDIATELY, then shipped it to my next destination. You might consider this common sense, but as a regular traveler it is much more common to hear "sorry, sir, we didn't find anything in your room ...", so THANK YOU Hotel Pollux and staff. Nicely done.

We just had 5 very nice days at the Pollux. It's a very convenient location just a few minutes walk from the train stations and fairly close to the fernicular and cable cars to a variety of different mountain destinations. It's in the heart of the town centre too so you have lots of facilities on the doorstep. We had French doors opening up on to a private balcony with 180 degree views, including a very limited view of the Matterhorn to the side. We were street side and the noise from the street was quite loud but once we'd closed the French doors we couldn't hear a thing, so we slept really well. The decor is all a bit dated but it's fairly typical for an alpine hotel and certainly didn't feel scruffy in any way. We didn't bother with the breakfast (we are GF so it's often/usually a problem) and we didn't use the hotel bar either so can't comment on those. The hotel could be improved by providing Nespresso machines and an iron/ironing board but that's all that was missing really. We had a very good stay.

We had never been to Switzerland, let alone Zermatt. After awhile of research all the chalets and hotels are hard to differentiate. We booked Pollux based on price relative to positive reviews. After completing our stay, we couldn’t have been more satisfied with our stay. It was absolutely perfect in every way. Friendly (and English speaking) staff, unbeatable centralized location, fantastic restaurants on site that you’ll always have a table for, available bar with fireplace for a quick drink, delicious and expansive breakfast, much needed tea/dessert apres ski, and sauna. By the end of our stay we wanted to move in to Pollux and never leave. Two thumbs way up!!

We stayed in Hotel Pollux for 8 nights for a skiing trip. The location of Hotel Pollux was excellent. It is on the main street, Close to the train stations, lots of good restaurants, luxury and souvenir shops, supermarkets and ski rental shops nearby.
The double room was sizeable with a balcony facing the backyard. We can see the Matterhorn from the balcony when the weather is good.
The mattress and beddings were very comfortable and clean. The flow of water and the temperature from the shower head were both strong and hot, which is very important after a cold ski day.
They have free sauna, free TV games and free cakes and drinks 3-5 pm everyday at 1/F common room. The quality of the cakes was good.
Their buffet breakfast was also very fantastic. There were different varieties of bread, waffles, cold meat, ham, and generous amount of smoked salmon, fresh pressed juice and breakfast cereals and yogurts.
They also have bacons, sausage and different kind of eggs which were all make-to-order. Their breakfast gave us energy to survive the cold ski days.
The quality of the food at the hotel restaurant which served Swiss cuisine was also good.
This hotel Pollux in Zermatt is definitely good value for money.

Yes there is a laudramat in the village but we never used it. I don’t remember the hotel having a laundry, sorry. However, they were very helpful with ideas, directions etc so certainly willing to help. Generally things are expensive in the village so would be good to carry your own detergent but there is a good supermarket at the rear of a small mall.
