We booked spontaneous a double-room and enjoyed the great price offer along the nice service and facilities like swimming pool, restaurants and bar lounge, friendly staff and a perfect location for XC skiing, snow-jogging and walking. Did not expect a lot but was happily surprised.
Very satisfied from the stay at Europa. Very friendly and service oriented staff ! Comfortable hotel, nice amenities, 2 good restaurants and a very good chef. Europe is not located in St Moritz village but there is a good bus connection, or 5 min by car or 30 min via a nice walk. That makes Europa a very good option quality/price to discover the very nice region.
Where to start? The first and last time in this hotel. The hotel makes a pretty run-down impression. I don't know if the hotel only acts more of a cash cow anymore. It's a very nice and quiet surrounding. I booked a single room. Be noted that it is not a double room for single use. Nowadays pretty rare but it is how it is and I was aware of it. The room and its furnishing seems to be very old and there was a terrible smell in the closet. I don't know if anyone has ever cooked fish in there... I tried to get rid of it by leaving the doors open, but that only helped halfway. In the bathroom, the water hardly drains. Sometimes you had to wait about 1 minute until the water ran off. Also the table on the terrace made a shabby impression. The room was clean apart from the ugly smell.. WLAN (upload) is pretty slow. Positive is the staff, which is really very friendly. The food (half board) in the restaurant is good. It is a three course, not a four course. The portions are quite small. Once there was a small green caterpillar on the main course. I think the decoration on the food made it possible. Shouldn't happen but could be worse, though. It was a meat menu ;) A bottle of water (0.5L) costs almost 7 - which I could almost accept for an "external" restaurant, but not for this one. No meat declaration. Only up on request. The menu is anyway printed daily so it should not be that hard to note that down. Or only if they wanna hide something. The chair was also broken. I think a spring has been broken. The chair creaked and you sat very one-sided. The breakfast is rather minimalistic. Sometimes the bread was still frozen. The most important stuff is there but not more. No changes during the week. Disinfectants are available due to COVID. However, I am not sure if it is that intelligent to put unused cutlery by the guests uncleaned back to the clean ones... Parking costs 7.00 per day. That's ok. A plus point is the good washing place for the bikes. There is a high pressure cleaner available. The bike-ski room is closed over night. Once I wanted to have a drink outside. But after 20 minutes I was still not served. I finally chose another location. The location is ok. With the bike you can reach St. Moritz or Silvaplana in 10 minutes. The mountain railways can be used free of charge. About the SPA I can't say anything. The weather was too nice ;) For what you get, the price is clearly too high. There are much better offers in the region. Should have choosen the other one directly in St. Moritz. Fortunately I had booked a package arrangement, which makes it just a little bit better.…
Engadina region is amazing and this hotel surprised us by the location, service, wellness and whirlpool, friendly and welcoming staff. We received a guest card that gave us access to mountain cable cars and public transport for free. Staff gave us great recommendations of places to visit and restaurants. Great experience, great hotel!
The hotel is dated and tired - it was almost empty and since we wanted a room with a view, we were offered 4th floor with broken elevator. We did take it hoping it was just a things they repair soon, but apparently it is a long time problem... The room did have a nice view - the double bed were two beds tucked together and the carpets would need some cleaning. The hotel furnishing must be from 1980s or so. Breakfast was Covid - continental - everybody was entitled to two pieces of bread, if you asked for more, you were strictly refused .... What a service : (
