This hotel was simply lovely. Every single member of the staff was kind and warm. The rooms (especially the recently refurbished ones) are nicely decorated, have very comfortable beds and good sound proofing. The rooms at the front side have views that make you gasp for air. The swimming pool is the biggest indoor pool I've seen in a mid sized hotel and everything is impeccably clean. The breakfast was great and the half board option offered different tasteful options every evening. If I come back to Grindelwald there is no double I would stay here again!

We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids ages 9 and 11) that stayed at the Parkhotel Schoenegg for 5 nights over Christmas. Lovely hotel and staff!

We stayed in a superior Junior suite with absolutely beautiful mountain views. The kids loved the large pool and hottub and swam for hours every day, and we enjoyed the spa area with saunas.

What makes this hotel great is the excellent staff; they were all very friendly, helpful, and hard-working! They all went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay, despite the extra safety precautions due to Covid.

We were in Grindelwald to ski, and the hotel is conveniently located about 100m from Grindelwald First where you can catch the gondola up the mountain. We also took the bus (stop is also very close to the hotel) to Grindelwad terminal (it's very easy to get around) where we rode the new Eiger Express and enjoyed many hours of amazing skiing (our favourite was Mannlichen).

Overall a great hotel, definitely recommend!

We have been returning to this hotel for more than 20 years. While the on site management changed a few years ago, the hotel remains a jewel within Grindelwald. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are spotless and spacious. Views from the Mountain side are spectacular! Christina at the front Desk is knowledgeable, friendly and very determined to make your visit an experience. The Dining Room is first class in every category. The very generous breakfast provides endless offerings of meats, breads, cereals, drinks, cheeses, and more. The five course dinners are always an experience. The lounge bar offers the local favorite Rugenbrau beer on tap as well as fine wine and drinks. Home made potato chips are available and delicious. Manual, in charge of the dinning room has been at the hotel since 1999 and makes a visit well worthwhile with his presence alone. The all stainless steel indoor swimming pool (the only one in Grindelwald) and hot tube make for a relaxing visit after a long day hiking. The sauna is first class. You can take a cold plunge afterward in the plunge pool. Fourth Generation owners Thomas and Anja Stettler have maintained the hotel in the finest Swiss tradition.

We stayed as a group of 6 families (12 adults and a bunch of children). The staff was indeed very friendly. At the reception, at the bar, in the restaurant for dinner and for breakfast! They prepared a big table for the group with special kids menus and chairs for the babies. The housecleaning staff was also very friendly and said hello every time we crossed them in the hallway. The hotel is very clean and a couple of meter to the gondola to First. From the rooms, you have a perfect view to the Eiger.
The ski-room (with heating for the boots) and the swimming-pool (with whirlpool) were perfect. The 5 course dinner menu was OK, but not outstanding compared to the magnificent breakfast buffet!
The bad surprise came at the checkout. The previously established offer with a price for TWO nights turned out to be only for ONE night. Instead of a good deal, we were asked to pay twice what we expected. The offer was done badly; the total amount due was not shown and it was not specified "per night". Eventually, we found a deal with the owner. If you have any doubt about the room rate (per night? per person? with breakfast? with dinner?), please contact the hotel in advance!

I thought I had booked my husband and myself into a hotel in Interlaken but when we arrived, we learned that my reservation was actually for the following month and because it was a Swiss holiday and long weekend, there was not one room available in Interlaken. Since we had planned to go to Grindelwald anyway I thought I'd see if there were rooms there. When I looked there was literally one room left in Grindelwald for our 3 day visit, so I grabbed it, not knowing anything about the Park Hotel Schoenegg. What a fantastic mistake! The staff couldn't have been nicer and more professional, the food (breakfast and dinner) in the dining room was so delicious that we ate there every night. We enjoyed a cocktail with their complimentary "crisps" (delicious potato chips) every night outside, and were tickled that they gave us some crisps to take with us at the end of our stay. The location of the hotel was great (although they even provided a shuttle to the train at the end of our visit) and the pool was an extra bonus, The town was charming and it was a great place to venture up the mountain for some summer hiking. We would highly recommend this place and were delighted with my mistake!

My husband and I had a wonderful week long stay at the Parkhotel Schoenegg in the beautiful town of Grindelwald. We stayed in the Superior Double room with a wonderful view of the mountains in the original building of the hotel. The large balcony was the perfect spot for a pre-dinner glass of wine. The hotel is also very pet friendly, which we appreciated. Our fur baby was walked when we decided not to take her to extremely high altitudes a couple of times, due to heart issues Thank you so much for this thoughtful gesture! We received excellent service from every member of the staff that we encountered.

Our package included the half board option and 3 day “Top Of Europe” pass, which was excellent value for the area. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The local meats and cheeses were a treat! The 3 course dinners were all very tasteful and presented beautifully. The salad bar and cheese selection were a plus! We looked forward to dinner every evening after all day excursions of hiking and sightseeing. My birthday was on our last day, and I was surprised at dinner with a decorated table and thoughtful card from the staff. My husband and I want to extend a huge “Thank You!” to the entire staff for a memorable stay. If we are ever fortunate to return to this spectacular area of Switzerland, the Parkhotel Schoenegg is where we would stay without any hesitation!

We have just came back from 5 days vacation spent in beautiful Grindewalden.

The Parkhotel Schoenegg proved to be a fantastic location with amazing facilities and truly wonderful team.

Buffet breakfast is available daily from 7:30 until 10:00 and offers a great selection of hot / cold options as well as drinks.

We had a pleasure to dine at the hotel once and the dinner was simply delicious with most attentive service.

The spa also offers some great facilities including relaxation room, sauna and swimming pool which is a great escape after a long day of hiking.

The location is simply superb - nested in the valley between First and Eiger and is a perfect start to all the incredible hikes and cable cars.

What truly stands out though is the wonderful and attentive service. All the personal touches makes the biggest difference and make us want to come back already.

Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The rooms are very comfortable and clean.
The location is nice, close to the ski lift but it still takes an hour to get to the slopes between queuing and the lift journey.
The food in the evening was average. The breakfast was good.
But you have to be very patient to stay in this hotel, everything is slow. The people at reception are quite clueless and not efficient at all. The lifts are slow and the staff don’t have their own lift.
It’s nice that they have an indoor garage but it’s quite narrow, not nice with a big car.

I've spent 5 days at the Parkhotel with family.
Staff was super friendly and very helpful.
The location is perfect, walking distance from the cable car to First ski area.
Brand new and super clean rooms.
You can even adjust the heating both in the room and in the bathroom.
Spa and swimming pool are super well maintained.
Super rich buffet breakfast with high quality food.
Coffe and cappuccino prepared perfectly
A special thanks to Restaurant staff: incredibly kind and very professional.
All dinners were all excellent and served with perfect timing.
Last but not least, a soup is served every day for free at lunch time due to covid restrictions causing all huts and restaurants to be closed.
We will definetly come again in summer.
Thanks again
Giovanna and family

The title itself tells people how much I like this hotel. Everything good starts from your 1st contact. The service team (Christina, Nadine, Cornelia and Camille) is always responsive and efficient. I like their tailor made responses. The current host Ingo is very friendly and we did exchange views on some topics. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for friends/families spending great time here for breakfast and dinner. Manuel, the restaurant manager and whom I first met him in 2014 summer, is attentive to details. Do sit at the outside terrace for breakfast/ dinner if the weather permits which offer a great view of the Eiger north face.
