Our family-run 3-star hotel is located in the heart of the city on the right bank of Lake Geneva. Enjoy a prime location for visiting Geneva. Our hotel is close to the old town, the cathedral and the English garden with its flower clock and water jet. In summer, its close proximity to the lake is great for cooling off or enjoying the many events organised around its banks. A multitude of restaurants, cinemas and shows, such as the Grand Theatre or BFM are only a few minutes away and will provide ample entertainment for your evenings. For shopping, Hotel Excelsior is just a few hundred metres from the famous rue du Rhône and rue du Marché where you can enjoy the many boutiques and shopping centres, not to mention the Manor department store located just opposite our hotel. The nearby no. 5 bus stop, less than 20 metres from the Hotel Excelsior, will take you to the Convention and Conference Centre (CICG, Palexpo) as well as several international organisations in less than 15 minutes.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Marie the owner is warm, friendly and welcoming. The hotel room has everything you need including a little fridge, lots of storage space, a great shower and the most comfortable bed. Would highly recommend. Also the location is fab.

Spend a week for business in Geneva, chose the hotel for its location and price, very happy with my choice, not to mention the staff who was very nice. Definitely recommend and will stay again for my next trip.

Perfect location, in front of a big Manor Shoping, 5 min walk from the main Station and 10 min from the old town. Rooms are very clean and spacious. It is 3 Stars hotel but the Staf (Marie, Yves and the rest of the staff) are so kind and helpful that deserves 5 Star only for the Service. I will come back and definitly recommend!!!

Near to the station and easy to walk into main parts of Geneva and across the bridge into the old town. Room was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning which is a bit of a drag in the height of summer. I would stay here again...in winter.

Stayed a weekend and really enjoyed it! Above all, this is a great hotel with central location. It was a busy July weekend but the staff kept smiling and everything went smoothly. There was a renovation ongoing but we didn't really notice.

I literally spent hours reading reviews to find a reasonably priced hotel that was not only central but clean! The Excelsior is a family run hotel, located a few minutes from the main Cornavin station and tram stops. The hotel is surrounded by numerous shops ( including the fabulous Manor department store ) and restaurants and just a few minutes walk from the lake. As soon as we stepped into the reception, our expectations were exceeded. The professional and friendly staff were more than welcoming and our basic but Immaculate room with crisp clean bed linen, spotless bathroom and powerful shower with plenty of hot water was just right. Within the rate was a simple complimentary continental breakfast, coffee, fresh juices, boiled eggs, yoghurt, fresh bread and croissants, I would absolutely recommend this hotel.

Stayed one night and everything was perfect. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and happiness! Everything was clean and furnished really nice. Great location right in the centre of Geneva. Breakfast possibly could have more variety but that's the only downside! The staff were honestly so professional, polite and friendly. Would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Recently stayed 3 nights. The hotel totally exceeded my expectations. Warm, comfortable room, huge comfy bed, fridge and safe in room. Great bathroom. Perfect location. Staff on reception were so polite, friendly and helpful. Can’t praise them enough. I would highly recommend the excelsior and would have no hesitation in staying there again. A real pleasure.

This hotel is situated in the centre of Geneva. It is a five minute walk from the main station, three minutes from the bus (No. 5 to and from the airport or the Palexpo Exhibition Centre) and many other buses, right beside Manor which is a great department store and supermarket (amazing food selection) and five minute walk from the Lake of Geneva with the Jet d’Or. The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated, very modern, comfortable seating area with an area to plug in various devices should you need to charge them or work. The breakfast room is also beautifully decorated, has a very pleasant atmosphere and a great variation of food. Fresh baguettes, croissants, jams, cereals, yoghurts, cheeses and cold meats. Also, hot food, scrambled eggs, sausages etc., but this is not available at weekends. The staff are very welcoming, speak English and are really helpful. Our room was very clean, beds very comfortable and spacious bathroom (shower in the bath itself). Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is quite close to Cornavin station, so there’s no need to catch an Uber from the airport. The staff is very nice. The room is quite big for European patterns, and smelled really good. There is a small bar with mineral water and some nuts. The bathroom is big to, and shower is good. What impressed me most was the breakfast, very good. It was the second cheapest hotel on the list, and it was a very good experience.
