A stone’s throw from Geneva’s boutiques and the shores of Lac Léman, Ruby Claire is as well-placed for shopping as for waterfront strolling. A short walk inland meanwhile will take you to the city’s historic heart, where pretty brasseries and buzzing bars encircle the ancient Bourg-de-Four. For more adventurous souls, the Alps and the Jura are on hand for day hikes with gorgeous views. And when you’re ready for a breather and a sundowner, where better than the historic Bains des Pâquis – beach by summer, sauna by winter? Geneva’s main station is a 12-minute walk from the hotel, from where the airport’s a seven-minute hop by train.

The Ruby Claire Hotel Geneva garners praise for its immaculate cleanliness and prime central location that offers guests convenient access to Geneva's attractions. While the rooms' unique layouts and quirky features are a hit with many, opinions on their size and value for money are split, with some guests finding the rooms basic and the extras pricey.
The hotel's modern and distinct atmosphere, along with its music-themed decor, creates an inviting vibe, although the lack of in-room tea and coffee facilities is noted. Moreover, the service at Ruby Claire is often commended for its helpful and friendly staff.

Detailed Reviews
We stayed one night at the Ruby Claire in a "Cosy" room. We took a quick (free) ride on the city streetcar and the hotel was very close to one of the stops.
The entry to the hotel is inside a "mall" area but is well designated so we didn't have trouble finding it. I liked the modern vibe of the hotel, with self check in available at the bar on the top floor. A key is required to access the room floors so I felt very safe staying. I liked the music decorations including the lookalike Marshall amp bluetooth speaker and the actual Marshall amp in the room. The shower is "in" the room but we liked the curtain surrounding it to close it off from the rest of the room. The bed was comfortable and they do a great job of making use of the smaller spaces in the Cosy room. We included breakfast in our stay but had to dash out quickly for a train so weren't able to enjoy it to it's fullest; I did see a very large selection of items.
This was a great location for our night in Geneva, easily walkable to nearby luxury shops as well as across the bridge/lake to other restaurants. We hope to spend more time here one day and had a great stay!

We booked this hotel for a one-night stay to explore Geneva, and we absolutely didn’t regret it. The hotel is just a few minutes from the main train station, and you can either take a short tram ride (10-15 minutes) or walk (20-25 minutes).
Finding the entrance can be a bit tricky, as it’s located inside a shopping complex. Keep an eye out, or you might miss it if you blink!
Once we made our way to the lobby, we could immediately feel the hotel’s unique vibe. The design was modern and youthful, and check-in was seamless: paperless, with the keycard printed from a slot just below the reception desk. The receptionist was friendly and gave us helpful recommendations.
The biggest surprise was the room size – it was huge! Space certainly wasn’t an issue, and the room felt both modern and clean.
We did have a couple of minor complaints: despite the large room, there was no storage space. Also, the sink was outside the bathroom, and the bathroom itself was made of glass, offering little privacy. Hotels should reconsider open toilet/shower designs… privacy is important, and having a sink in the room isn't ideal.
The location was excellent, with shops, cafes, and restaurants all within walking distance. The old city was also just a few minutes away.
Although we didn’t book breakfast, we did enjoy drinks and snacks at the hotel’s bar/lobby/restaurant before and after dinner. The vibe was fantastic – maybe the best part of our stay in Geneva! There’s an outdoor terrace, too, though we didn’t use it because of the chilly weather. Drinks, service, and food were all excellent. Highly recommend stopping for a drink here. If you’re after a more affordable breakfast option, head to one of the Swiss supermarkets just below the hotel, like Migros, and enjoy a nice breakfast by the water.
If you’re looking for a modern, laid-back hotel with a fresh vibe, this is a great choice. Geneva can feel a bit formal, but this hotel is a breath of fresh air.

We were so pleased that we chose this great hotel for our week long stay. Whoever is running this hotel has got it spot on. We upgraded to WOW room which was huge, well worth it. The rooms are kept spotless by the cleaning staff, one mark on the bedding and it was changed. The breakfast is excellent and plentiful, cereals, fruits, eggs, ham, cheeses pastries etc etc. All the staff members that we encountered were friendly, helpful and efficient. In the Library room you can get free tea and coffee, the hotel itself is so well placed for bus and train stations etc. We throughly enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely stay again. Well done to all the staff and management for making our stay a memorable one! 😊

Hey Sunshine, wow, thank you so much for the lovely review. Breakfast is our favourite meal of the day, so we make sure there's a mix of fresh, healthy options alongside a few little treats – from local suppliers wherever we can. Glad you liked it. It's also great that you noticed how much we focus on offering our guests a place where they can feel right at home - by making cleanliness a priority and offering friendly, down-to-earth service. We hope you'll stay with us soon again - either in Geneva or one of our other locations across Europe. Your Ruby Claire Team

When I asked for an early check in, to clean up before heading to a meeting I was told that they don't do that 'they are a lifestyle hotel and don't cater to the business traveler' (this is a direct quote from the gentleman at the desk).
The check in process is 'fancy' - in reality it takes twice as long as it needs to and if you are in a room by yourself you have to put the same details in twice. The simpler version is to tell the person at the front desk your name, they confirm your booking and identity and give you a key card, Technology for the sake of fancy isn't worth it.
Air conditioning never worked - very warm in the room.
Location is ok, but taxi driver didn't know of the hotel and there is no sign on the road so you have to wander around and down a small retail alley to find it.

Hello John, thanks for taking the time to rate your stay with us. Standard check-in is from 3pm, but our speedy housekeeping teams sometimes have rooms ready before then. If you arrive early, we might be able to give you a room straight away, but we can't make any promises. We're happy to keep your bags safe and secure until 3pm though, so you can head straight out and start exploring the city. We’re sorry to hear that some aspects of our Lean Luxury philosophy aren’t your cup of tea. To us, the lean part is all about making smart use of technology to simplify things like check-in. For your problem with the air conditioning there should be a host in the bar 24/7 to help you solve the issue. We hope to see you again soon. Your Ruby Claire Team

Upon arrival, the front desk guy was constantly on the phone so we struggled to get the necessary details, but finally did and were able to store our bags, which appeared very secure. When we came back to check in, the front desk printed our room key for the wrong room. We literally walked in on an occupied room, which was uncomfortable. They blamed it on the keycard printer, which was also struggling with a few others checking in around the same time. They had to reprint pretty much everyone’s keys. Other reviews seem to indicate similar issues. Once we finally got our correct room, things were mostly okay. We couldn’t seem to find a way to keep the air conditioning running but turn off the lights. So the room got a bit warm overnight, especially with just a duvet cover. Couldn’t open the windows since there appears to be a club/bar immediately across the way that had loud music until past midnight which was already loud enough through the closed windows. We also visited the bar, and while looking at the menu at the corner of the bar, the bartender rather abruptly told us to sit at a table and someone would come by. So we did, but after awhile of waiting and no one coming, I ended up just going back to the bar and awkwardly ordering there. Never been to a bar where you couldn’t really sit at it or order there. As others recommend, definitely don’t show your free drink passes (from skipping room cleaning) until after you’ve ordered and leaving since they’ll not treat you as well. Room overall and hotel were fine, but could’ve certainly been better and expected a bit more. Location was great though! Felt like a reasonable walk whenever we wanted to go, many shops and restaurants around, and could easily reach a tram/bus stop to go further.

This is an excellently located, quirky hotel in Central Geneva, within walking distance of most places. The hotel is reached through a shopping passageway, but is clearly signposted. We had no trouble finding it, although if one arrives late at night it could be a little challenging. From the entrance one goes to Reception on the 7th floor, which is also the bar and breakfast zone. You can self-check in using g and iPad they provide, we asked a staff member to check us in normally and they immediately obliged. All staff are very accommodating. The corridors on the floors where the rooms are, are painted all black with motion sensors to switch on the lights. As I said, quirky! The rooms in contrast are white and bright. Shower is a glass cubicle (although there is a curtain one can draw to provide some privacy. The wash hand basin is in the room - but that was no problem. There is no phone, refrigerator or coffee/tea facilities in the room - again quirky! However, at each floor there is a galley where guests can help themselves to coffee and a range of teas. But it’s a bit of a bind to go to the galley and carry coffee back to the room. Breakfast was continental + (no hot dishes) but we found it adequate.
We would certainly stay there again.

I booked a room on the website of the Ruby Hotel and chose a room price where I could cancel the room if needed.
I had to cancel my room and I tried to call the hotel again and again but I allways got he machine stating that all their employees were busy and that I should call back. This was two days before my stay at the hotel.
I sent them two emails with my room cancellation and asked for a confirmation but got no response. The emails were sent before the deadline of the room cancellation.
In the end, my credit card was debited and I still hadn't heard anything from the hotel. I tried to call them again but got the same answering machine.
This is not acceptable.
It is a shame as the hotel is very well located and the rooms are nice and clean.

Hey Sunshine, thanks for taking the time to review your stay with us. Our Ruby Claire is just a stone's throw away from the shores of Lac Léman and within walking distance of the historic city center of charming Geneva. We’re sad to hear that you had to cancel your stay with us and could not make use of the central location and our clean, comfortable rooms. It’s a pity you had trouble reaching us over the phone. Like other industries, the hotel industry is also severely affected by staff shortages. However, we try to take care of your inquiries, wishes, and matters of the heart as quickly as possible. We do our best to get back to guests within 24 hours via email, but it sounds like you caught us at an unusually busy time. We hope that the issue was solved in the meantime by our reservations team. If not, kindly reach out to us directly via email, so that we can look into this further. Your Ruby Claire Team

Situated in the shopping district, a good location for exploring Geneva and many transport links within walking distance. Simple check in and check out but the hotels not able to accommodate early check ins, they do have a designated room to store luggage if needed whilst you wait. During check in process you're offered to swap the daily room cleaning for a free drink, we never received a physical voucher and when we enquired at the bar we were told we didn't need the voucher and could choose any drink on the menu as there's no restrictions. However, the drinks were charged at full price which we only realised after checking out. Originally booked a cosy room and was upgraded to a lovely room on arrival, the room itself is pretty basic but clean with a comfortable bed. The frosted shower and toilet cube isn't very discreet so might not be the hotel for you if you're not overly comfortable with your traveling partner. Also, no fridge in the room to store drinks etc, but the hotel bar is open 24/7 and a small grocery shop is just around the corner, most shops in this area seemed to be closed on Sundays. Limited air con settings in the room so no option to cool the room to a specific temperature. Overall, reasonably priced for a short but pleasant stay.

Hey Sunshine, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Our Ruby Claire is just a stone's throw from the shores of Lac Léman and within walking distance of the historic centre of charming Geneva. We're delighted that you were able to take advantage of this great location during your stay with us. It's also great that you love our super comfy beds as much as we do. The only downside is how hard it is to resist a lie-in every morning. The standard check-in time is 3 pm, but our speedy housekeeping teams sometimes have rooms ready before then. If you arrive early, we may be able to get you a room straight away, but we can't make any promises. We'll be happy to store your luggage until 3 pm so you can get out and explore the city. As part of our Lean Luxury philosophy, our rooms don't have minibars. Instead, you'll find complimentary hot drinks and a maxi bar in our galleys where you can pick up other essentials. Otherwise, head downstairs to the bar for a drink or a bite to eat - it's open 24 hours a day. Regarding the green option voucher, we apologise for any misunderstanding this may have caused. If you need any further clarification on this matter, please don't hesitate to email us and our team will be happy to clear this up with you. We hope to have a second chance to welcome you back soon. In the middle of downtown Geneva in what should be a quiet area at night. Unfortunately the rooftop bar is open all night. Nice place to have a drink before dinner or a night cup, however, it has the disadvantage that if you want to sleep with open windows then it gets very noisy at night. Breakfast is too expensive: if you go to Globus next door you can get a very nice breakfast for roughly half the price (depending on what you want to eat of course).
do not make use of the Green Deal, we had wet towels in the room which would not dry and caused a damp smell inside the room. the offer is good, however, we would not make use of the Green Deal again.

This hotel is in an amazing location. Central to everything, I thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the old city.
The rooms are very small and the pics of nice balconies are mostly just the bar area. Most rooms have a view of the central light well or other buildings.
But that’s the price you pay for this location and cost. When I told my taxi driver where I was going he hadn’t heard of it (as it’s new and kinda hidden) but he said it must be very expensive, 300 francs a night at least. So what you get is actually great value.
The rooms, while small, are very clean, new, funky and well enough appointed. Don’t expect a desk to do business at, but has everything else you would need.
Staff were very cool, but helpful and the bar is awesome. Some great cocktails!
I didn’t have breakfast as it’s pretty expensive, but it looked quite good in terms of a classic French breakfast buffet. Plenty of cafes in the old town for brekky anyway.
Finding it can be tricky, either go from the Macca’s passageway or from rue de Rhone 42 passageway. Don’t expect signs on the outside.

I wish I could help but I don’t know. Our room was fine. We didn’t take the train as we walked pretty much everywhere when we weren’t on a tour.
