It is small but very clean. It is in City center and only a few blocks from the train station. Andy the Inn Keeper was great and helped so much with planning our days . The town is beautiful and located on a swift river coming from the lake.We used this location to explore Switzerland on day trips. The breakfast...

A beautiful hotel/B&B at the very centre of Thun. They only have six rooms, so you can go to their webpage and have a look at them all - every room is unique. Although the location is very central, just off the main square, we could sleep just fine. No nightly disturbances at all. The breakfast is unbelievable, the best...

We love this tiny home away from home place so keep coming back yearly if we can. The restaurant serves the best chicken I've ever eaten!! The breakfast is top quality healthy in a relaxed setting. Thun is the best city to use the Swiss trains for day trips. Can't wait for our stay this coming December !

This was our first visit to Switzerland, and we chose to stay at the Schwert Thun Hotel based on the prompt, cordial emails we received in response to our information requests. That excellent communication was only a hint of the enjoyable experience we had during five happy days there in early October. From the train station it was about a...

This tiny hotel with only 7 rooms, located in the historic inner city ( close to the medieval town square ), is housed in a building dating back to medieval times. The location is excellent and it is about a 10 to 15 min. walk away from the train station. If you have luggage, I recommend taking a taxi as...

Thun is a lovely town, very convenient to the Jungfrau but much less commercialised and with a much more friendly and intimate feel than Interlaken. The Schwert is well located in the heart of the old town and has plenty of character. The room we stayed in was spacious with an eclectic but comfortable style of furnishings. The staff were...

This is a wonderful find in the beautiful little village of Thun. We used it as our first stop after flying into Zurich. It helped break up the trip ( on our way to Zermatt) because it's a short train ride (2 hours) from the airport. The hotel is near the train station so we could walk. Wheeled luggage is...

This is a beautiful little boutique hotel in the center of the old town in Thun. Like Thun itself this is an undiscovered gem. The room we stayed in was large and beautifully decorated with wonderfully chosen antique furniture and art on the walls. The feeling is light, bright, rustic and antique. The staff were patient and helpful and there...

Our stay at this hotel began like an episode of "Fawlty Towers." We were standing outside in the cold at a time we had been told was a normal check in time, ringing the reception bell 5 times over 30 minutes. We were considering a long walk back to the train station to ask the tourist office to call for...

Perfect location in the middle of Old Town. Spacious, pristine room with large bathroom. Comfortable bed. Terrace just outside room. Staff were very accommodating and helpful -- went above and beyond in helping us get our laundry done. Breakfast was great -- fresch croissants, bread, jam, cheese, muesli with yogurt, eggs, coffee, juice. Coffee maker and mini bar in foyer,...

“Room Tips: Room 1 - Our two daughters stayed in this room and fully appreciated the size and beauty of this room. They did mention that some noise could be heard from a nearby bar/restaurant later in the evening, but not enough to interfere with a good night's sleep. Room 2 - Faces the back side of the hotel and has a view of the castle from the window. Includes an in-room sink.”

“Choose room # 6 ( this room is huge with beautiful, freestanding shower, sink and toilet) or # 1 ( with shared bathroom)! If you intend to stay a week or longer, the absolutely stunning, newly renovated attic apartment might be of interest and perhaps a better deal than renting a room below...!”
