When the rooftop bar is not open, the lobby bar is a great substitute. Super service, nice comfy chairs & sofas, as well as some discrete seating. The prices are a little high, but then so is staying at the hotel. Indulge yourself and then if you are catching a train, the main station is right next door,
Wonderful stay in an inside facing boutique room - extremely calm and quiet despite the bustling (and very convenient) location of the hotel. Customer service is impeccable: I did have a few requests and everything was taken care of immediately. The room was clean and tidy, although the wall in the shower could use a little deep clean. Breakfast service in the room was always punctual, the food was always fresh and the portions were generous. One thing I noticed though - not all dishes on the tray were covered which would be a nice plus in these challenging times. Hotel highly recommended!

I had made a reservation for my boyfriend and I on the Sky Terrace for the evening of 4th December to celebrate a special occassion. When we arrived at reception and asked how to access the terrace we were told the terrace was closed that evening😳 I said hows that possible, I have a reservation !? 🤔 The lady at reception got on the phone and along came a gentleman only to repeat what the lady had said. I asked, " Why didnt anybody inform us of this before?" He said we called you but there was no answer- our reservation was confirmed for 7pm via email, I was not asked for a telephone number therefore the hotel doesnt have my telephone number , however they did have my email address. I expected more than a mere "sorry". The correct thing to do in a situation like this would be to reserve a table in another food outlet of the hotel so that when the customer turns up for their reservation they are given an alternative for the inconvenience and still somewhat able to enjoy their evening. Instead we were left to wonder the streets of Bern looking for anywhere willing to accept us without a reservation on a Friday night. Very disappointing evening ☹️…
Went to eat lunch wit the family for the anniversary. Great food, great service and amazing vines. I would definitely return to Schweizerhof at any time and try the Lobster or the oysters. Thanks for the amazing times and until next time.
