The Hotel Euler is in a great location. Its right across the street from the train station and as soon as you walk out the hotel, you can catch many trams. If you include the breakfast, its great for catching a bite before you start your day. If you looking for something elaborate then you would have to venture to...

Dear Key W We thank you for choosing the Euler for your stay in Basel as well as for sharing your experience with others. We are glad to learn that you liked the room, the location and that you found enough choices at our breakfast buffet. We look forward to welcoming you in our blue hotel soon again! Jana Jeschek...

Location was excellent, directly across from train station and only several blocks from business destination. I knew the building was relatively old - I believe that a hotel has been operating in the building for some 140 years - so I set my expectations accordingly. (Besides, if I'd wanted a more generic US-like experience, I could have stayed at the...

Dear goatini We sincerely thank you for booking the Euler as well as for taking the time for such a nice and precise review. In earlier times, when we still used a regular mystery check to monitor our services, the description of their experience could not have been more accurate. Your suggestions regarding an ergonomic chair and a huge fluffy...

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel has a very good location, you can walk or get a tram right outside of the hotel to go to the city center. In the afternoon, the live piano music is amazing. The breakfast is ok but not great. I would only say that the beds were not so comfortable, which is also the...

Dear Trevor Many thanks for your visit at the Euler as well as for your nice review. Great to read that you liked the hotel and its location. Indeed, food and drinks are in Switzerland rather on the high side. There is however a huge variety of shops, bakeries etc in our neighbourhood as you mention in your comment. We...

The Euler is an ideal place to stay when visiting Basel. Although it is not in the very centre of the city, it is no more than 10 minutes away, with all the trams you need stopping literally at the door. (The hotel gives you a Mobility Card, which allows you to use all the trams and buses in the...

Want to pay about 18 euros at the bar for one vodka red bull? If you are still reading then this hotel can rip you off but if you are clever, eat locally and there are many options, you will be OK. Rooms are very clean, beds super comfy and firm. All very clean. Location is not great. The surrounding...

Dear Cimmy Many thanks for your visit at the Grandhotel Euler as well as for your high score. When reading through your review, it sounds like the Euler was not quite your cup of tea. Which is absolutely fine. Since Basel is not huge, the area "where Basel happens" is about 10 minutes walk. Just to clarify for the tripadvisor...

Dear Sir Many thanks for staying with us during Christmas as well as for your review. My apologies for the warm room. All other suggestions are well noted too. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Euler was built in 1867 by Abraham Euler and is one of the earliest tributes to high-end hospitality in Europe. Since 1981 it has belonged to the Manz Family. This elegant four stars superior hotel was completely refurbished in May 2008 in a modern style, still keeping the traditional elegance of a grand hotel. It has 66 rooms, 6 of which are junior suites. All rooms offer the highest in comfort and modern technology and combine modernity with tradition and design. The Euler restaurant and bars combine seasonal specialities with classic traditional dishes and cater to all needs, from a hearty breakfast to a fast business lunch to a cosy candle light dinner. In the summer time the Euler Terrace is one of Basel’s main meeting points, for a quick coffee or an aperitif. A Starbucks coffee shop on premises completes the food and beverage offer. ... more   less
