Located in the very centre of Basel near to Claraplatz - a hub for public transportation. The Basilisk Hotel can be described as simple, cosy and confortable. Rooms are "relatively" small but there is enough space if you are not on business and they are quiet. Room and bathroom are very clean. Breakfast buffet is good , the müesli I...

This is the place you want to use before you are getting on a river cruise on the Rhine. I stayed about two weeks and did lots of Trips to France and Germany from here. Ideal for Christmas markets in the area. They're Breakfast Buffet is Continental but of good quality. I love the very friendly staff here. It's a...

This was a nice, somewhat unimpressive hotel at first sight. Appearances, however, can be misleading! It is a 3 star hotel in a clean and convenient location. A good ten minute walk takes us to the Central Market area where farmers from around the region come to sell their produce. My wife and I walked over to the place i.e....

Hotel pictures are spot on, dont expect anything more. reasonable stay though to me appeared expensive or perhaps thats standard across Switzerland. Was not overly impressed by staff though pleasant enough at times. average vote for average stay, nothing out of the ordinary although one thing, its conveniently near tram stop!

Ok, it's good value for money I'll give you that but otherwise unless the entire city is booked out this is probably not the best place for you. Clearly passed it's prime, both common areas and rooms, and in heavy need of some TLC. Breakfast didn't look great so I passed. One mitigating factor is the location which is pretty...

Located very close to the tram and local shops. The main shopping street and Münsterplatz are a 10 minute walk away, I travelled in December so was lucky enough to see a very good Christmas market here. My room was clean and bed comfy. I also ate in the hotel restaurant, good service and reasonable prices for Basel.

This place is decent. It is located near the city centre (some 20 min walk) and near public transportation. Rooms are refurbished but it seems it was done just half way through. For example, furniture is new but floor and doors are old and squeaky. They offer free WI-FI. Staff were ok, but late in the evening they had an...

I stayed in the Hotel for a week in the month of June. Best thing about the Hotel is the location. It is located right at the heart of the city. The Hotel is right at the start of the market area, 5 minutes from the river Rhine. It has lot of good restaurants in the walking proximity. One of...

The staff in this hotel were incredibly helpful and friendly. The hotel's décor is nothing to write home about, but it is very clean and well situated within Basel. I am sure that this is an excellent hotel to stay in if travelling on a budget. We liked the fact that breakfast started at 06:30am as we had our longest...

“Don't get a room near the elevator. It is the noisiest area. Also, ask about the room when you book. They are so varied in size. Ask for a larger one that is quieter. We were on the 1st floor, but I imagine the upper floors are quieter.”
