Twenty-five years ago we spent our honeymoon at Il Casolare, only a couple of months after it had opened. Returning now, on a holiday to mark our silver wedding anniversary, there was always the possibility that it might have gone downhill in the intervening years. Far from it! I Casolare is now even more entrancing than it was then, Andrea...

We arrived in San Gimignano and followed a map along the road (about 5km) from town to turn down an unpaved road. Heading down this unpaved track our initial trepidations were soon overwhelmingly overturned with a magnificent stay with Andrea and Berta. The rooms were immaculately clean and the sizable, providing a perfect place to base yourself for Tuscan adventures....

We returned to Il Casolare after 18 years and found it even more captivating than the first time. Berta and Andrea have created a place of beauty and peacefulness. At every turn there are flowers and fruit trees, small private terraces. Our suite, Canonica, and its adjacent sitting area was beautifully appointed. Chef Carlos, along with Berta and Andrea, produced...

This beautiful old farmhouse, tucked away in the heart of the Tuscan hills is a little paradise. Run by Berta and Andrea, who are charming and wonderful hosts and who make almost all their own produce for their wonderful meals it is a place to really chill out by the pool, surrounded by fruit trees and flowering shrubs or quietly...

Anytime you're traveling thousands of miles from home to a foreign country and staying in a 800 year old farmhouse, there's always some trepidation and anxiety. Well I can tell you that all of our anxiety melted away within 5 minutes of walking up towards Casolare di Libbiano and being happily greeted by the owner Berta. Berta and Andrea are...

I couldn't say enough wonderful things about Il Casolare di Libbiano and about Berta and Andrea. We were a group of six adults who had the pleasure of staying there for 4 nights, each in a unique and beautiful suite: Campagnola, Alba, and Dependence. The entire place was breathtaking and truly felt like a home away from home. From the...

Berta & Andrea were very welcoming and were very helpful on our trips around the area. Florence, Sienna and hilltop towns were within 1-2 hrs drive but with such stunning scenery the drives were well worth the effort. Yet the most outstanding part of the stay at Casolare di Libbiano was the food all freshly made and using many ingredients...

We spent a few nights here during a driving trip through Tuscany. It's isolated, and the 3-4 kilometre approach road could be described as either charmingly rustic or just plain rough. The rooms vary in size and quality; I'd guess the longer you stay, the better your room will be. Ours was okay, but the bathroom had seen its best...

We are unpleased about your review because we really don't understand why you have been surprised of the extra's prices when you have payed your bill, because we have a pricing list, with all the prices of drinks, food, etc., that you can find it in the sitting room and in the reception, or, in case that you what to...

My wife and i, our two daughters (toddler and baby) and our friends and their daughter visited Berta and Andrea's beautiful place in late June and we had a perfect time. The only complaint was not having an extra two hours in every day, as anyone who goes on holiday with very young children will know, it is exhausting!! Especially...

Usually I quite match people's review on Tripadvisor but this time I really don't get it. The night before we stayed in a B&B in Florence. It was 60 euros for a nice and spacious room in the center. When we decided to go to Casolare de Libbiano and pay over 100 euros for a night in the middle of...
