We left Florence in the early morning and were in Lucca by 10:00. La Romea is a short walk from the train station, through quiet, narrow streets. The roses were blooming. The old palazzo where La Romea resides is really old. Our directions said, "ring the bell". Gaia answered. She buzzed us in and said, "Come on on up". We...

Only 4 rooms, wonderfully restored ( check the frescoes in the kitchen), this is a memorable and special B & B. We had delicious breakfast, soft light streaming through the windows, nice Italian music in the background, no rush and so much to learn from Giulio and Gaia, the lovely couple who own La Romea. The room we stayed was...

A little taste of old style Italy in a beautiful setting and pure comfort. Perfect for a couple looking for a romantic location in the old section of Lucca. I my case it was just enjoying a beautiful place in a lovely city. Nice location in walking distance to many attractions and walking or biking the wall of the city....

We loved the Peach Room which benefits from afternoon sunlight and a view of lively pedestrian life below. The sitting room combines as...

La Romea is close to everything including restaurants, shopping, and the city walls. Gaia and Guilio were as nice as can be. Always willing to answer questions, make reservations, or to accomidate you in any way....

Very cosy and beautiful place to stay for a few days. Nice and clean room. Right in the town center. A few minutes walk to the enchanting Piazza dell'Anfiteatro. The owners were very kind and helpful. They took the time to tell us how to get around and where to go on a day trip around Lucca (don't miss Barga,...

Best located in Lucca. Nice and cosy room: good, very tasteful interior (not the common cheap mediteranian stuff), down to earth, but not too basic, quite beautiful furniture and paintings, very historic ambience. A joy to stay! Super friendly, competent and helpful couple running the place. Very good breakfast. Our 5th sty in Lucca, this place is best, we´ll love...

The owners Gaia and Guilio make you feel so welcome in this charming bed and breakfast. It is superbly located and the rooms are large and tastefully decorated. Priced very well indeed. We loved it. Such history to the building that it is in.
