Stayed here in the middle of May with my husband and 3 sons. We absolutely loved this hotel/guesthouse. We had a wonderful large room with a loft with plenty of space for the 5 of us. The owner/manager Blerina(sp) was a sweetheart & could not have been more helpful to us. She gave us great advice and even helped with...

The family that run this set of apartments are wonderful. They are a young family but you never hear the children and our room was next to their apartment. The breakfasts delivered to your door make for an excellent start to the day and Blarina (excuse the spelling) was very personable and could not do enough for you. Excellent English!...

In the heart of Florence, within 5 mins walking distance of the duomo it is perfectly located. We stayed in the cherub suite, as requested for our silver wedding anniversary. The room was extremely spacious, the decor and furnishings were delightful and the painted ceiling and murals were incredibly beautiful. This room opened out onto a small courtyard garden which...

We had 2 nights in Florence and got there by train from Venice. Arrived at about 6.45pm and entered a rather dark reception area. The host showed us to our suite which was large and had an outdoor area. The hotel is nice and about 10-15 min walk to the main city. Walked a bit and saw the sights. The...

I have been meaning to write this for a while as we had the BEST time. Most importantly, it was the host who made this so amazing for us. My gorgeous now-fiance proposed to me in Florence and Blerina assisted with helping him to ensure that the courtyard was pretty and the champagne was ready when we arrived back. Prior...

I spent a week this March in this hotel. The location is ideal for exploring the city, just five minutes from the Duomo of Florence. There were medieval murals in the walls. It felt like sleeping in a dedicated arts museum, but with all the comforts and commodities one can ask for, provided by a friendly and helpful staff. Definitely...

This guesthouse is about 10 minutes walk from the Duomo. Blerina, the manager is really friendly and helpful and is fluent in English. The rooms are very large with really high ceilings, they are beautifully painted- each room is different. The first night I was too hot (the air conditioning is not turned on until May) so Blerina organised a...

We had a wonderful stay at Firenze Suite. The Inn exceeded our expectations. The Inn Keepers were so friendly and helpful. The room was impeccably clean. The breakfast was filling. We really enjoyed the little kitchenette in the room and the courtyard. The location of the room is very central and close to the sights. The Inn is decorated beautifully...

Hidden among tiny historical streets of Florence A great place to stay while you are at Florence. Walking distance to many attractions. Comfortable and big rooms. The owner Lady was very helpful and friendly. Gave us a map and explained everything to see in Florence…I think her personal touch made the difference. Wireless was not the best..but overall we loved...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
