I can't say anything negative about this hotel. I was looking for a relatively budget stay for my partner and myself, and this was well worth every euro. The location can't be beaten. Walk two to three minutes and you are in the hustle bustle of the Florence centre. Being on the other side of the river, you have a...

We stayed there for two nights. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean. Terrace has beautiful view on the river and Florence. Just 5 minutes by taxi from the main rainstation - costed us 10 EUR only. The only issue we had was the room we had first night - it was located on the same floor where...

This is our second visit to The Silla - a recommendation in itself. All the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful, the breakfast on the terrace is very good, in a lovely location overlooking the city. The hotel is clean and is very peaceful considering it is so central and convenient for sightseeing. It has a charming old world ambiance....

Hotel Silla does a wonderful job of taking care of their visiters. My husband stayed here 10 years ago with our son and we were glad to see that the service and accomodations are still outstanding. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Very well situated close to everything, yet far enough away to not be congested. We...

We booked their family room--it had four beds, and they brought in a playpen for the baby. The room was quite large, and had lovely high ceilings. The advance booking online price was good compared to the rest of Florence. Parking was €19/day, and in a garage right under the hotel. They even fit our minivan in their tiny garage....

We only stayed one night here but found it to be in a great location, close to the Arno River and one of the bridges to cross over into the main part of Florence. Staff were very helpful. Car parking is available for an additional charge, but as we only used it for a few hours, they waived the charge....

The Silla Hotel was in an excellent spot not to far from all the main attractions. Quiet area even though there are 2 bars on the same street, no problems with the noise level. The staff at Silla were very helpful. Rooms were of generous size. Would not think twice to recommend this hotel to friends and family and would...

We stayed here for two nights, and would have returned but the hotel was fully booked when we visited Florence again later on our trip. The hotel is situated on the opposite side of the river to the busy areas, but close enough to make most of the sights no more than a 10-15 minute walk away. One word of...

Staying in Piazzale Michelangelo

Neighbourhood Profile
Piazzale Michelangelo
Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
