Carlo runs a great little place in the Santa Croce area where there are lots of small bars, restaurants and interesting shops to explore. It's less touristy here away from the main sights and crowds which we liked, and still only a short walk to everything you'd want to see. The B and B itself is on a busy street...

Lovely bed and breakfast next to Piazza Santa Croce. If you're looking for a cozy, warm and centric place to stay on your next trip to Florence, this is the place. Carlo was a great host and I wouldn't think twice about coming back on our next visit!

This is the most delightful bed-and-breakfast. You couldn't be more centrally located. You're pretty much two minutes away from one of the most beautiful churches of Italy - Santa Croce - and four - five minutes away from Palazzo Vecchio and all the other major highlights of the city. The bed-and-breakfast is actually an historical residence and it is a...

We thoroughly enjoyed our (second) stay at De' Benci. Carlo communicated promptly and answered all our questions prior to our visit. The B&B is secure and perfectly located to explore the city. Our rooms were spacious, well appointed and very clean. Breakfast is served in a delightful, airy room. Carlo and Sara went out of their way to make our...

Carlo has created a warm and welcoming environment for his guests. The architecural details combine the glory of Tuscan heritage along with modern technology. Our room was spacious, bright, with traditional decor; the bathroom modern and large with plenty of hot water! The breakfast room is spacious and delightful, a fond tribute to Florentine history. Thank you Carlo for making...

Location, security and comfort. We had all of these at De’ Benci. The B & B is right next to Piazza San Croce. It has a warm traditional decore (furniture, carpets, pictures) and modern fixtures (bath, lights, card keys). Most importantly, we had the warmth and genuine hospitality of Carlo and his mother who provided us with a wonderful variety...

From the moment the big entrance door swung open and we walked up the hallway that took us into the De' Benci B&B we felt we were entering somewhere special. A secret hideaway in Florence reserved just for us. Carlo, the owner, and his mother made us feel very welcome and the B&B itself was stunning. Lovely spacious, clean and...

We were made to feel very welome by Carlo in his charming bed and breakfast. The location was spot on and suited us perfectly during our short stay in Florence. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated and we appreciated the use of the fridge for our cool drinks during our stay. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts each morning prepared...

We really liked the location of this B&B - it is very central and close to a lot of the main sights one goes to Florence to see. We thought that the rooms were quite nice and that overall, the B&B was charming and a great place to stay. Carlo and his staff were kind, friendly, accommodating and very helpful....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In the heart of the old city of Florence, just between Piazza Santa Croce and Piazza della Signoria, there is De Benci b&b, bed and breakfast in Florence, ideal base for visiting one of the most beautiful cities on earth and its art.The visit, the discovery of the capital of the Renaissance already begins within the walls of De Benci b&b.The atmosphere is very charming, stylish and romantic: you will be welcomed into elegantly furnished suites with every modern comfort (air conditioning/heating, private bathroom in room, digital lcd tv - DTV, internet connection, Etc.).The bed and breakfast is on the fourth floor of an ancient building (dating back to 1300) with the recent installation of modern lift. The thick and textured interior walls are painted rose. The doors are as light as ivory. Very wide windows let the light go in. The typical Tuscan floor and the ancient wooden-beam ceiling enrich the entire structure. In all over the place you can find small details in characteristic stone (i.E. Pietra serena), in ancient brick or in dark wrought iron and brass that decorate the environment, but soft colour and scent of wood reign over all. Every detail has been chosen with great care, taste and passion. ... more   less
