a quieter area of Florence, but still within walking distance from most important sights. friendly owners and large rooms, even if pretty kooky decorated :) the breakfast is pretty basic but overall it's good value for money.
Positive things: within walking distance from Palazzo Pitti (1 km), Ponte Vecchio (1.25 km) and Uffizi (1.5 km). Especially good if you have a car, because you can park outside the roman walls. Silent at night because the room faces a inner yard.

I stayed in this B&B for 3 weeks, in 2 different rooms. It's in a good location, 10 min walk from Palazzo Pitti and giardino Boboli, 5min from the lively piazza Santo Spirito with a large number of very good restaurants at the surrounding streets....More

Just outside the ancient walls of Florence, Viale Michelangiolo starts. It is a winding road rimmed by wonderful poplars and holm oaks. The long ascent opens up to the most beautiful and famous panoramic viewpoint of Florence: Piazzale Michelangelo, where an elevated terrace offers visitors an incomparable and breathtaking view of the entire city from above. During good weather, Piazzale Michelangelo provides
visitors with a serene space surrounded by the amazing landscape, better if accompanied by a fresh gelato from a local kiosk. During night, visitors will be dazzled by the warm lights of the capital of the Renaissance. Spend a second with the silent Romanesque beauty of the Basilica of San Miniato al Monte: the one that wishes good morning and good night to Florence!
