Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.

We brought a group of 49 people to stay at this property. Everything from the beginning planning to our departure was outstanding. The front desk was very professional and there to help with everything we needed. They even helped us with a shuttle to get our large group from

We had just two nights in Florence and chose this hotel because of room size and proximity to airport as well as the city. We had a family of five and chose two junior executive king suites which were on floors 1 and 2. We could have probably gotten one of the suites (king

We stayed here 2 nights in early January (Friday and Saturday). It is very difficult to buy bus tickets at the train station (only 2 lines and very long due to people planning their entire Florence visit) so we opted to take a taxi to the hotel. It would have been more, but as

We actually took the train from Pisa airport to train station in Florence so no idea about taxi fare from airport. As far as the hotel goes, it is off the beaten track so we found it pretty quiet. I don't think you will have trouble with sleeping here.

There is no shuttle to the city centre but there is a bus service that costs around £2,40 Round trip I believe. Super easy to use! You can get tickets at the front desk and they will tell you where to get on and off. But to get to the airport, I would suggest taking the taxi. The Florence streets can get quite busy so make sure you leave with plenty of time so you don’t have to rush! Hope this helped!
