I booked this hotel because it seemed quite central and it is the perfect location to explore the city, two minutes from the Arno river and ten leisurely minutes walk to all the tourist attractions. The guest house is on the fourth floor in a beautiful old apartment with tea and coffee on arrival. The room we had was massive...

We had to walk up to the 4th floor with luggage as there were no lifts. As we booked in, we were asked to move rooms on our last night to accommodate another booking - guests should not be asked to you move unless they request it or there is an emergency, it is an inconvenience. We agreed to the...

This B&B is absolutely charming and perfectly located for a visit in Florence! Franco, the owner, is very polite and friendly and made our stay very comfortable. The entire place was tastefully decorated, clean and elegant. We also had free access to the Nespresso coffee machine. The location is very conveniently situated in one of the central but quiet streets...

The location of the guesthouse is near the Arno in walkable distance to all attractions. And the room was small, but nicely decorated. However, everything else wasn't what we expected. The photos on our booking site are not the ones for the room you book - they are probably from the largest room available. During our stay of a week...

We found the hotel online with no real input. Found it to be our favorite place in Italy. The only down fall is no elevator. We over packed and had to carry 6 bags up four flights of stairs! Ugh! Franco the owner gave us great advise on places to visit and where to eat. We loved the charm of...

We booked here for a family of 4. On arrival we couldn't find the manager and fortunately a local resident let us in and carried our bags upstairs (all 76) of them! We had to wait over half an hour for the manager but once he arrived he was very helpful with advice and local facilities. The room was large...

We stayed in Capri Moon for three nights in September 2010. We had a delightful stay and would recommend it to anyone. Be aware that Capri Moon is incredibly difficult to find if you are unfamiliar with the numbering system in Florence. Residential buildings have red numbers and business have black. It took us a very long time to find...

Don't be fooled with the pictures that this B&B have put on the website. Firstly, pics are taken with a wide angle lens so that the rooms look bigger than what they are. We booked the quadruple room and stated the ages of our kids (13 and 10). On arrival the owner, took us up to a room for 3...

I have booked this hotel in may 2010 for the stay in september. The room was fully prepaid and confirmed via booking.com. Three days prior to arrival and 4 months after booking confirmation I got a message from the hotel that they are overbooked and they had to cancel my reservation! They have missed my booking and also forget to...

We stayed at the Capri Moon for 2 days. It is very well located at a 5-10 minute walk from Florence's main train station, and at a 5 minute walk from the city's historic center. It has no elevator, so you will have to carry your luggage 3 stories up. The B&B itself is cozy and our room and bathroom...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
