Very easy to get to from Firenze S.M.N Station. When you arrive at the B & B it's a little daunting, but just press the buzzer, either walk up the narrow stairs or jump in the one man lift (my hubby squished in, but not with luggage!) go to the third floor. Matteo is the owner/manager, he is very helpful....

Very near the train station, easily accessible to many sights and good restaurants. Helpful owner who answers to your queries as best as he can. Rooms are clean and good wifi speed which we used to skype with family back home! Would stay here again! Perhaps the only downside is the very narrow lift but guess thats common in Italy...

Located in the center of Florence, it is perfectly located: you can reach all the Florentine monuments by feet and you can find nice restaurants around. The room was cosy and clean. We especially remembrer Matteo, the owner, who was very welcoming and obliging. A nice bead and breakfast!

The location is excellent. It is close to all the famous monuments in Florence. In the same neighborhood there are a lot of places to eat which makes it excellent for a person who doesn't know where to go for this. The place is cosy and clean. And with having internet and TV, this makes it an excellent bed and...

My friends and I were travelling in Italy for 3 weeks and Florence was our last stop. Arco Antico proved to be our 'home away from home'. The room we got was facing the lane, it was a little noisy during the day, but at night it was OK. Anyway we were too tired to be bothered with anything after...

Having stayed at Arco Antico with my daughter 3 years ago, I decided to come back to what I knew and liked with my husband and daughter this fall. The b&b is in a great location: close to the railway station and the Duomo, the Uffizi, the Galleria dell'Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, Pitti Palace and all other major sites in Florence....

We were very pleased with the service. Matteo was a great host. He speaks good English which was great for us (we spoke no Italian), was always friendly and helpful and offered very good advice and suggestions for trips in and around Florence. Basic, clean and airy room with ensuite. We looked forward to breakfast every day. Matteo offered a...

Arco Antico is in a great location to be a base for sight-seeing all over Florence. It's just a few blocks from the railway station and there are lots of great restaurants near-by. The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was nice although it would be great if it was served earlier. For the price,...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
