I love my hotel here in Florence, I got it at a steal. I'm definitely in the cheap and cheerful room, but it's got a double bed and has a little sink and has the most glorious exposed beam ceiling. The building is a sixteenth century palace (how cool is that?) and the hotel is very central. It's a 10-15...

Explored Florence from this hotel for 3 days. We had a very big room including our own bathroom. Unfortunately the bathroom only includes a shower you have to leave the room for a shared toilet.

Great location, a brilliant price for Florence, and you are in a Renaissance Palace. What more could you want? Basic room standards, but beds are good. Staff lovely, will help with booking passes etc, even though it is quite a basic, 'pension-style' place where you might not expect that kind of service. I also love the fact you can book...

this hotel is in a great location, it has very basic rooms most without a bathroom,of which were very small, the breakfast was included in the price which we found to be good value, other reveiws have said it all about this hotel but most important is the location which is 10/10

Picked this place because of the reviews on trip advisor. Stayed for three nights in May 2010. The room was not very big or that nice - but it was fine for somewhere to sleep and store luggage. There was a massive shared living space that was quite random and a bit wasted - just a few couches around the...

It truly is a lovely hotel, most of the staff are friendly and helpful, and the location couldn't be better but; the shared bathrooms are quite dingy and freezing cold - no heating whatsoever; we run out of hot water for a day on New Year's Eve, so me and a couple of other guests showered in ice cold water;...

Wow. For such a tiny charge I was amazed by how comfortable and excellently situated this hotel is. Beautifully laid out, and although the room was simple it was perfectly appointed and very comfortable - of particular note was the size. Great service, very helpful with everything and knowledgeable, and a pretty good breakfast for the price of the room....

I couldn't believe what a room I got for 55 euros a night after being ripped off at Cinque Terre, and spending the night in a dump near the train station. Located in the restricted area of Florence where no cars are allowed, but you do have to climb a lot of stairs - yes. But what you get? If...

Positives: great location near to the cathedral; big, spacious rooms; friendly and accommodating staff; good breakfast (within the context of Italy and the price); historic building. Negatives: not nearly enough hot water for 4 of us to have a shower, not even enough for one to have a hot shower as I recall; not the warmest hotel, it was just...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
