I spent three days at the hotel visiting my daughter, who lives around the corner. If you have any trouble walking steps, this is not the hotel for you. It's on the third floor. My room was comfortable, clean, and had everything you need for your stay. The Wi-Fi was good, and there was breakfast. My only negative was that...

I think the hotel offers exceptional value for money; I paid less than $50/night, in December, so off season, but this was cheaper than the other options I saw. The room was quite large, the bathroom average size. Everything was clean. It's basic, meaning no high-end features, but everything works well. The bed was comfortable. There's a reasonably good breakfast,...

The price was quite expensive for the stay so we assumed it would be a great place. The hotel is nice and cosy quite small. The location was good very close to the Duomo. All the staff are extremely nice and helpful. Upon arrival you need to climb 3 strap flights of stairs but they immediately offer to help with...

This place has a great location 5 minutes walk from Duomo, in the historical centre of Florence. The hotel is simple but nicely decorated and with all comforts (WiFi, AC, hairdryer). If you don't have problems going up to the third floor without elevator, this is a very good value hotel. The continental breakfast is simple but good, and the...

Very helpful staff, however, hotel is on the fourth floor with no lift. Our room was adequate, A/C worked great. Breakfast was very nice, many choices. Overall, we would stay there again, good value considering how pricey other hotels are.

We stayed at the Hotel Cardinal for 3 nights, the room was basic but nice. Shower was very good, housekeeping daily. When we arrived we were greeted by a member of staff and offered a refreshing drink, which was welcome after climbing the stairs to reach the hotel. We were then shown the hotel terrace which is stunning with 360°...

This hotel is great. The staff are really helpful, the rooms are clean ans fresh. The location is perfect for walking to all the sites. The only down side is the 60 steps you have to climb to get up to the hotel. But don't miss the view from the roof terrace,

Great Location, room was small for the price we paid and the breakfast is okay. The manager is friendly and helpful. Downside if you have any walking issues or back problems the 70 steps up to the hotel would not be good.

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
