We really enjoyed staying at Bed and Breakfast Il Bargello this last September. Their suggestions on places to visit and directions were helpful. The reception was warm, the room was quiet, and the provisions for self service breakfast were good. We also enjoyed the view from their roof top. The restaurant recommendation (Coquinarios) was excellent (especially the pear and pecorino...

We stayed two nights at Il Bargello B&B. The location in Florence is ideal for walking to all the sights you want to see and finding great restaurants. Gabriel was a fantastic host, providing information on Florence news and suggesting sites to visit and restaurants to try. Our room was fine for the short time we were there sleeping and...

We spent 4 nights here prior to transferring to Volterra for a hiking trip organized by Sherpa Expeditions. This B&B has a great location next to the Bargello museum with an easy to moderate walk to just about anything of interest. The B&B is located up 3 flights of stairs, 77 steps in total, so this place is only suitable...

Just spent 3 nights - location is great and didn't mind the 3 floor walk-up given the price and value. The room was well appointed, spacious, clean and Suzanne and Gabriella (who we spoke only by phone were very nice and helpful.) We are very accepting of variety across cities and B&B's - I would really like to give this...

A wonderful, charming B&B in the heart of Florence. We stayed in the executive suite for 3 nights and could not fault the accommodation or level of service. After the first night we felt so relaxed and at home; as though we belonged in the city. To be so close to the Duomo and Uffizi was amazing and the stunning...

This was a repeat stay at Il Bargello B&B. IT NEVER DISAPPOINTS! We stayed at the Executive Suite across the hall from the main B&B. It was roomy, very clean. The kitchen was stocked with GREAT fixings for a continental breakfast. The location is centralized, it is a mere minutes from major points of interest in Firenze Centro. I have...

We stayed here for two nights. Very hospitable, felt like a welcoming home without feeling like you have no privacy. Good rooms with aircon. Only downside is 3 flights of stairs when you have heavy luggage but you soon forget when you get up to the roof balcony and look out over Florence. Will definitely stay here again if back...

Florence is a beautiful city and staying at this B&B was fantastic. It is located on the top floor so you will need to be able to go up and down stairs. Gabriella is so helpful and has great taste! She has so much energy and is every welcoming and organized. The decor is great and she has put a...

Me and my partner stayed here in July 2015, we found this hotel to be lovely. Staff were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Rooms were clean and comfy, breakfast was good. Roof terrace was a great touch. Lovely hotel, only thing is this hotel is on the top floor of the building so there’s a few stairs to climb. Thanks...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
