Great location, easy to walk everywhere. Laundry near by, friendly owners, open kitchen with plenty of milk, bread, juice, yogurt, coffee, fruit etc. Great rooftop sitting area to have wine and cheese or meal in the evening. Three long flights up so don't take heavy luggage. Little noisy at night but it didn't bother us after the first night. Some mosquitos...

Suzanne was very helpful and so nice! We ate a couple of her recommended restaurants and both were excellent! The rooms were comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was filling and plentiful. Free wifi. The location near the Bargello museum cannot be beat. It was a short walk to everything! Make sure to go up to the rooftop terrace with a bottle...

My wife and I stayed here recently while visiting Florence and we couldn't have asked for a friendlier place to stay. Suzanna looked after us and her breakfast baking was a real treat - the apple and cinnamon cake was a particular highlight. OK, no lift and 77 stairs, but we knew this before we booked so we were expecting...

Just climb to the roof top terrace with the city's major spires all around you, and your decision to stay at Il Bargello B&B central location is reconfirmed. In an historic building the public spaces are an open airy home away from home. The secure rooms are very clean and comfortable. Great beds. Open beamed ceilings. Immaculate bathrooms of a...

I don't often give 5* reviews to accommodation but Il Bargello is definitely an exception. Having stayed in Florence a few times over the past years or so, I decided to try something different and more central. I don't think I could find anywhere more central that provided such a wonderful location and service at such a reasonable cost. We...

My wife and four kids (17, 14, 11, 8) spent two nights and had a wonderful experience. The suite was perfect size for our family of six, the staff was very helpful and the location was ideal for seeing the many treasures of this beautiful city. We had a small refrigerator and microwave, which was very helpful as well. The...

The only problem with our visit is that it was too short. We only met Suzanna from the B & B. Suzanna had great recommendations for restaurants and sights. The B & B overall was a great host. I will be recommending them to anyone who is going to Florence.

Suzanna and Gabriella made us feel right at home! The location of this B&B is perfect for any sightseeing in Florence. We were given directions, suggestions and detailed information about the Florence area. The rooms are typical for Florence but the breakfasts are to die for! These ladies know how to make you feel right at home! There are plenty...

Our stay with Gabriella was perfect for the three days we were in Florence. Stepping out the front door you are in the heart of the city with museums, churches, markets and the Duomo within easy walking distance. Gabriella and Suzanna are helpful and enthusiastic, and gave us great directions for all our explorations. The breakfast was lovely with yogurt,...

Great location, great service. Very quaint little place. English speaking staff is very helpful. Our bathroom and room were smallish, but clean and in good order. Breakfast is generous with fruits and yogurt and great coffee, cappuccino or chocolate made by hostess. Rooftop terrace is a great bonus! This is the kind of place that draws excited travelers who love...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
