We arrived into town late in the evening, later than we were supposed to. The hosts were extremely accommodating and very pleasant. We were traveling with two college sons. The room was bright, lots of windows, nice sheets, and had air conditioning we used since it was warm. The bathroom was spacious. The breakfast was diverse and nice. The location...

Stayed 3 nights here while exploring Florence. Enza and Sara were excellent hosts. We had booked a quadruple room for our family of four. Room was very spacious enough for a big double bed and two single beds and four pieces of luggage. Bathroom was updated and modern. Breakfast spread was modest - brioche and bread, cold cuts and yogurt,...

Spotless, very well appointed B&B a short walk from the main railway station. Exceptionally friendly family-run establishment which has just opened. The room was large and beautifully decorated with an all-singing-and-dancing shower and super pictures on the wall. Lovely comfortable bed and corner room views. Breakfast was varied and delicious, especially the home-made cakes. They could not have been more...

We stayed here in the month of May. We had a wonderful stay! The rooms were nice and clean and all our needs were taken care of. The owners were really nice but language seemed to be a barrier during our communication. Nonetheless, the breakfast was really nice and the location of the property is also really convenient in terms...

We stayed at the B&B in Florence for 2 nights. Bright, clean and spacious room and large bathroom. Breakfast area is nice and the cappuccinos were delicious. Very close to the Santa Maria Novella Train station - its about a 10 minute walk. The owner Mario is so friendly and helpful. Even though he could speak very little English, it...

Somehow I booked a B&B without realizing I had done so - so when I arrived I was quite surprised! Fortunately I speak Italian so my interaction with Mario the owner was very positive. Mario was quite personable and friendly. Room was bright, clean, spacious and flat screen TV featured quite a few channels. Shower was quite large by European...

We stayed here for two nights as a base next to the train station as we were heading off to watch the Moto GP. Just be aware the check in time of 6pm is quite strict, after a phone call we managed to get it extended till 8pm as we were having train troubles! Room was clean and had a...

The accommodation is almost brand new, it was modern, clean, fresh and had everything we needed for our few days. It was a perfect walk into the town areas, not too far away at all. We would definitely stay again. The husband and wife who run it were lovely, didn't speak much English but they were so helpful giving us...

Excellent accommodation, modern, bright and cheerful. Breakfast fresh and comprehensive. Owner attentive but low key presence. Just off the main centre but easy access to all the main sites. We would use again. Great!

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
