My husband and I and two other couples spent 17 well-planned days visiting Italy in June. Even though Hotel Europa was recommended by friends, I was wary of its lower-star rating. All other hotels where we stayed were 3 and 4-star. Arriving at Europa also made me leary. We had to take a tiny elevator "up" to the "hotel." However,... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Europa. Miriam & Robert are great hosts, very helpful & friendly. The hotel has a great location, only about 3 blocks from Academia (David) and about 5 minute walk from the Duomo. Train station about a 15 minute walk, but not bad. Our room was clean, comfortable & quiet. One night it got... More

I had stayed at Hotel Europa in January, and it was great to be able to stay again (more than once) on another trip in the spring. Everything was equally as good, if not better. It's very easy to find, is in a safe location, and offers a wide breakfast selection with generous serving sizes of cappuccino or tea. I... More

Hotel Europa is a lovely comfortable family hotel. We stayed for three nights and couldn't feel more welcome. Miriam and Robert were wonderful hosts that were really helpful. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in this lovely hotel. Miriam greeted us and set us up for the sights. Robert went above and beyond his role by interpreting an Italian website, helping us make reservations, and then printing the reservations. Highly recommend.

Hotel Europa was an awesome place to stay for a few days. I visited several cities, and therefore hotels, throughout Europe with some friends, and Hotel Europa stands out as one of the best places we stayed. The rooms were clean and refreshed daily. The view was amazing. We could see the Duomo from our room. The owners, Miriam and... More

The owners of this hotel care so much. Every day when I came down for breakfast Miriam asked if I would like any coffee or tea and Robert was such a help and a great wealth of knowledge about Florence. These two are fantastic hosts and run a great establishment.

Hotel Europa honestly became like home for our four-day stay in Florence. Our room had a comfortable king-sized bed, and a covered balcony where I enjoyed cappucino every morning, rain or shine. Breakfast was varied and tasty. Even though the hotel is within walking distance of the Duomo, our room was quiet, and looked out on a peaceful, pretty courtyard.... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
