We are in our late 20s and recently spent 3 nights at Hotel Davanzati as part of our honeymoon. It was one of our favorite hotels on our trip, and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into making guests feel comfortable and welcome. We would recommend it strongly to both couples and families visiting Florence. We... More

The hotel was great. As soon as we arrived someone was there to greet us and help us to our room. The room was nice and had character. I liked that there was a flat screen TV, playstation and laptop in the room. Me and my friend loved the place. The location was great, right within walking distance of everything.... More

My husband, son and I stayed at Hotel Davanzati for 8 nights while visiting family near Florence. My husband and I met in Florence 10 years ago while I was studying abroad and this was our first trip back to Florence in 7 years. I wanted it to be perfect and searched over a hundred hotels before choosing Davanzati. I... More

When we organized our trip, we relied heavily on internet reveiws and on Rick Steves! We were correct--all reviews for the Davanzati were positive, and we were definitely not disappointed in this hotel. From the minute you walk in the door, you are greeted warmly, taken care of, spoiled, and invited to the happy hour! I knew I had made... More

Had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Davanzati at the end of our 16 day trip through Italy. My concerns were if the bed would be comfortable and if the air-conditioning was adaquate. After arriving to a very friendly front desk manager, we were shown to room 103 which was recently remodeled. Great air-conditioning, comfy bed, clean room. We had... More

First trip to Italy. Arrived in Florence feeling a little disoriented and travel weary, and were SO comforted and quickly settled in this great hotel. Thanks to Tomasso for museum reservations, GREAT restaurants that fit our budget, and help with train plans. I couldn't imagine a better hotel. Our room was small and perfect - new, clean, energy efficient. Oh,... More

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Davanzati for 5 nights in September of 2006, and wanted to stay longer! Tomasso and Fabrizio were wonderful. Fabrizio helped with museum reservations and suggested a great tour of the palace. He also recommended some very good restaurants - one of which was the best one of our whole trip. Tomasso's english is... More

Excellent hotel, staff, service and location. I have stayed at the hotel three years in a row. I would not consider staying anywhere else in Florence. Hotel rooms are very clean and very tastefully furnished. The location is perfect - beside all the sights. The service offered is second to none.

After reading exhaustive reviews , we booked Davanzati hotel for a 2 night stay at the beginning of our trip to Italy,. What a wonderful hotel and what a great start to our holiday - Fabrizio and Tomasso and their family lived up to all the good comments previously made . It is hard to add anything new to what has already been written about this outstanding hotel, but a measure of the greatness of any establishment is not necessarily its number of stars but its caring and professional response to customer needs - particularly when unexpected difficulties arise. My wife needed quite urgent medical treatment (for a spider bite that... More

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
