I enjoyed a 5 night stay in this lovely, family run hotel. As all reviewers have stated, the location is fantastic. Near all attractions and a short walk to the train station. The breakfast is typical for Italy, with fresh fruit, yogurts, delicious pastry, hard boiled eggs, lunch meats. All hot beverages including delicious cappuccino. The staff is very warm,...

This is a small family hotel run by three generations; grandpa is still greeting guests at the tender age of 93! The son and grandsons are wonderful helpful hosts and all the staff is helpful and pleasant in all manner of ways. The location is centrally located for all attractions and the museum and restaurant recommendations were most helpful.

My husband and I just returned from spending 5 nights at Hotel Davanzati. What a wonderful hotel! The staff was outstanding - super friendly and helpful! Perfect location, we walked everywhere we needed to go - train station, Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi, etc. Rooms were spacious and clean. They also provided you with an Ipad Mini, which was great to...

We were 5. Booked two rooms for 4 nights. Check in was a breeze. They give you an iPad to take with you. It was very helpful. It's small family owned business. Took the the train to Pisa and walking distance to Academy for David's statue by Michael Angelo and walked to UFIZI museum! Very convenient. They have 12 steps...

Loved everything about this hotel! Terrific location, central to all the sights, shopping, and Vivoli gelato. Rooms are clean, modern, and quiet. Complimentary breakfast and happy hour are an added bonus, however, it's the staff that's sets this hotel apart from all others.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Davanzati. We were greeted with warmth and given lots of helpful information about the hotel and its surroundings. We loved the extra touches that they included: a dividing wall in the bedroom we shared with our children that offered some privacy, free wifi, an iPad loaded with useful information about Florence, super comfortable...

My husband and I just returned from 2 weeks in Italy and while in Florence, we had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Davanzati. What a wonderful family owned boutique hotel it is! The staff was so friendly. Fabrizio greeted us every morning by name. Leonardo and Lorenzo were just as attentive and kind. Our room was nice and private...

We had a family of 3 and had a suite. The room had one bedroom and a terrace. Furnishings were great and the bath was exceptional. However, these items were surpassed by the management and staff. They were informative, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Every afternoon they have a meet and greet with wine and cheese for guests. The location is great...

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Davanzati for 5 nights at the end of March. The location is fantastic, within easy walking distance of all sights. Our room was comfortable and the bed was terrific. The room had two sets of double paned windows to minimize street noise. Even though we were in the front of the hotel...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
