I had an enjoyable stay here. Almost opposite the Florence SMN train station. Easiest way to get there is by coming out of the station where road is (not the square). Look for Burger King on the opposite side. Go on the road beside BK and 1st right is via Fine. 1st house of left is hotel Desiree. Building is... More

Don't get confused when you walk up to the building, the whole building is not the hotel just one of the floors is the actual hotel (check the lobby to see the exact floor number). We didn't have a reservation, we just needed a one night stay in Florence and it happened to be only like 4 minute walk from... More

I don't think I've ever felt more connected with the hotel staff. From the time we rolled in with our suitcases walking from the train station, "Lugi" as we were calling him, greeted us downstairs and helped us carry our suitcases up the stairs and into the elevator. He spoke very little English and us Italian so there were a... More

We stayed in this hotel for four nights. On checking the gentleman at the reception upgraded our room to a larger one at no extra cost. He was very friendly and service minded. The room was actually big compared to the rooms available in other Italian hotels for the same price range. However it was a pretty dated room. The... More

The hotel is on the second level of a building housing about half a dozen hotels at the rate of one or two small hotels per floor. This seems to be the going style of central Florence hotels. The old style elevator is an interesting feature and works well provided the previous user closed all the doors. We arrived by... More

We only stayed here one night, travelling between a week in Tuscany and Venice, but definitely chose the right hotel. It takes only a few minutes to get to the railway station and all the sights are no more than a 10 minute walk. Spacious and clean room with lovely Italian decor. Very comfortable bed and new bathroom with rainhead... More

We visited the hotel for one night and checked in around 2pm. The gentleman on the desk was very friendly and welcoming, showing us to our room and explaining how the air con worked etc. We also got upgraded on arrival to a bigger room with a balcony - which was a wonderful surprise - for no extra cost! The... More

Handy enough to walk into centre in 15 mins through interesting side streets. Friendly and efficient staff . Breakfast is continental of course so little to say... More

Hotel Desiree is vey well located, really close to train station, one can walk around the city center. It is tricky to find the hotel, there are different properties in the same building, so read the signs when you arrive at the right street and number. There are few steps from the side walk to the building entrance and there is... More
