Found this hotel via Rick Steve's guide; was looking for something for early July that had 1) air conditioning, 2) free wifi, and 3) budget prices. You couldn't go better than the Hotel Lorena. It is just a few minutes walk to the Duomo, 10-15 minutes further to the river and other main attractions. Everything we did was within walking...

This hotel is somewhat old building right next to a busy intersection. You may find some doors and furniture to be old or outdated but the rooms are comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are recently renovated and working nicely. Even though hotel is next to some busy shopping/restaurant area, the windows are nice and tight and prevent noise coming into the...

Hotel Lorena was an extremely pleasant surprise, and was a great place to go and be after a day in Florence. Once we arrived, one of the hotel staff was fast to come and greet us at the door and bring our luggage up the stairs, which was very helpful to us! He was very helpful in our check in...

This hotel turned out to be a good deal. The location is superb. Close to everything, even a supermarket. The front desk was very helpful in reserving tickets, suggesting attractions, and storing our luggage after we checked out. The room, however, was stuffy, a little dusty, outdated, and noisy. Not that big of a deal, though, for my wife and...

My partner and I have stayed in hotel Lorena for ten days in March, and we had a lovely time. We stayed in room 31 (with window looking out into a tiny inner yard - actually this is good, because it's quieter, considering the bells of Medici chapel and Duomo ringing loudly), and it was all we could hope for...

This hotel was a great value for the location. Florence is so easy to travel by foot, but it was nice staying somewhere so central. The staff was a bit uptight at times, but still very accommodating. If you plan on going out, the hotel has a 2 AM curfew. They weren't happy with us coming back past then. The...

The location of this hotel is perfect, if you are arriving and departing from Firenze train station. Just about 5 minutes walking distance from the station, the hotel is bang on in the central area and Florence, being a small city, its very easy to explore on foot. Hotel Lorena is perfect if you want to stay in central Florence, pretty close to the train station and the center. Could see the Duomo from our room. The man at reception was fantastic, absolutely brilliant customer service, couldnt speak more highly of him. Gave us great instructions and advice. We didnt eat breakfast (for an extra 5euros). Decided to...
