The hotel's location is convenient, just a walking distance from the main train station, the Duomo and other attractions. For persons with poor legs, I would consider again since there is a staircase to climb to the reception from the street. Despite the central location our room was quite calm, since it was not towards the street. The breakfast was...

I would honestly upgrade this hotel to a three star if I had the power. The couple who run this place are so nice and really want to make their customers experiences as best as they can. I asked one of the managers to reserve a taxi and she helped me do it.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights and did not want to leave. The hotel was very charming and well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Best Location!!! Located on a quiet street but closed to everything, including shops, restaurant, bars, cafes and the famous Duomo. Staff was very attentive and helpful.

The hotel is close to the Duomo and the train station. It is clean. Breakfast was good. The people working there are very helpful and really love their city. We had some issues with street noises when we opened the windows at night and had difficulty getting the air to work well but we did sleep.

Since our arrival the personal attention was great. The manager welcomed us making the check-in pretty fast. Although we arrived a little bit early, we still got our room ready. The location is great, really near from Santa Maria Novella Station and also close to all the main atractions. Since it's an old building, you cannot expect to have all...

The location of the hotel is excellent! Only 2-3 min from Santa Maria Novella Train Station and only 2-3 min from Duomo! The hotel is in the historic centre of Florence and you can do everything on foot at a max of 15 min. The staff was very polite an helpful. The rooms were big and very clean. The breakfast...

The main advantage of this hotel is its location. We walked all over Florence, but were never far away. Also the staff is very helpful and suggested an excellent restaurant nearby for dinner.. Along with the location, there is some noise at night which might bother some people. Also it is necessary to carry your bags one flight of stairs.

A little gem of a hotel with the most helpful staff. The hotel seems to be a converted private home. The rooms are small by US standards, and the shower is VERY tight, but there was plenty of hot water and water pressure. The entire hotel is very clean and well kept. When travelling, we prefer to stay in a...

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
