First let me say if you want a 4 star hotel experience this is not for you. The location is amazing The owners/manager is awesome The sheets were clean The rooms were clean enough The hotel is run down. Some plaster missing in the ceiling and stains on the carpet. If you have high standards go someplace else. For us...

The hotel is close to piazza della repubblica, not too hard to find- down an alley, but close to the designer strip. The room was large and simple, small bathroom. Continental style breakfast, amazing cappuccinos. Lots of stairs in entrance of hotel. My experience was that the room was clean.

This hotel is cheap-ish, great location, and nice owner, but it is so dirty! The carpet was so so gross. We change hotels and fora better location and $15 more we have a great place around the corner.

This very old, very small downtown Hotel is extremely hard to find. It is basically in an alley right next to Gucci row, so it is in an excellant location, right in the middle of things. But although it says parking garage, what it means is that you pay 28 Euro a night to park because it is not their...

We just arrived here yesterday, and it is such a cute place! Rooms are simple, beds and bathroom are clean, carpet is not too clean and has cigarette holes throughout. The best things about this room is the windows with shutters (very Firenze), and the glass doors leading to a 3 meter squared patio, complete with table, chairs, and window...

Hotel Esperanza, situated on the corner of Via dell'Inferno and Via del Purgatorio (romantic, eh?) deep in the heart of the old town is not easily accessible. Better don't try it by car (we did), not sure, if it's any better by taxi. Later on, however, all the sights are only a short walk away. The hotel is very modestly...

When arriving in Florence on our honeymoon our original hotel (Hotel Medici) had electrical problems and redirected us to Hotel Esperanza. The man that greeted us was very nice, but I was not impressed with the hotel. It was down a creepy alleyway, and located above a mechanic and garage. It was very noisy in the morning. The carpet in...

We expected basic rooms for the price in Florence, and that is exactly what we got for about $60/night for a double. The owner was sweet and helpful and the location was excellent. Breakfast was packaged and simple, beds semi-comfortable and some ceiling and walls cracked. There was a lot of noise from the car garage immediately below - with...

I was looking for somewhere simple at the last minute and hostels were all full. The charming old guy at reception was friendly and helpful. Wifi was excellent. The room was basic and the bed wasn't great but I had no troubles sleeping. Some mosquitos at night because I left the window open. Woke up a bit early due to...

Staying in Duomo

Neighbourhood Profile
Duomo
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
