Had recent 5day stay in fabulous little hotel Adler Cavalieri. Perfect "ye olde world" hotel with such attention to detail. Lovely breakfast, served either indoor or on outdoor patio. Close to Train St SMN, for trip to Pisa. sightseeing, eateries. shopping, or just sitting on one of the many Piazzas with coffee or vino, watching the world go by A...

I traveled to Italy with my husband for tourism. We stayed in Florence for 3 days and it was at Adler Cavalieri. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and we had free access to powerful wifi. The location of the hotel is excellent; close to monuments and shopping. However, I was very disappointed from too many...

Dear Kareen S. Z, I read your review, but I don't understand why your stay was so orrible, but I don't answer to a subjective judgement, because I haven't any answer if you don't like our mirror in the lift. I want only to point out that you assign the same score to one of the most important italian monument...

The hotel is in a former monastery dating back to the 1300's in the historic center of Florence. .It is a short walk to the Santa Maria Novella & the Piazza del Duomo. It is also a 5 minute walk from the train station. We had requested a triple room, however the room we had was a 2 bedroom suite...

Well priced, convenient to train and sights, friendly staff, 24-hr service, great little bar area, terrific breakfast included, and super cute well-appointed rooms. They are sooo close to the station, Florence is tiny so also close to everything!!! Up the street from the Arno and 10m walk to the Duomo. Also, the breakfast is great, the staff is great, the rooms are terrific and perfect for the location, and there's a bar on site!!! Also plenty of restaurants across and up the street....

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
